Why hello there all you guys!
A small introduction of myself.
I go by the nickname Quase on almost every forum I visit, so who knows, some might already know me.
I have started wargaming a loooong time ago, from before Mordheim even existed.
My first love was Fantasy Battle, a game system for which I had Orcs and Goblins (greenskins always hit my soft spot, I just can't resist them) Lizardmen, Slaanesh Deamons and Dark Elves; then I dabbled a bit in Mordheim (Skaven mainly). Afterwards I started 40K(Orks and Traitor IG) and played that a great many years over three different rulessets.
After that, I started expanding my horizon into Epic Armageddon (Orks, Space Wolves and I've just started a Titan Legion army), Bloodbowl (Orcs (starting to see a returning theme there?), Warmachine (Protectorate) and Malifaux (Guild and Neverborn).
When I realised that I hadn't played any of my Fantasy Battle armies for over 10 years, I decided the time had come to sell them off, all of them.
Oh, just in case you are wondering, all of the armies mentioned above have been completely painted
The gained funds were then invested in my new project, being Pirates.
Last year I started to buy Pirates and piratey rulebooks from all game systems. I have a Pirate army for Warmachine, I have the Pirate Gobbos for Confrontation, I have bought pirate crews for the Cutlass game and I have the pirates from the Freebooters' Fate game.
And I've bought undead pirates from Black Scorpion and a couple of the crews above can be used for Legends of the High Seas.
At a certain moment I bought myself the Ogre Pirate Maneater because the fig was just too cool to pass...
And then I realised that with all of my game-systems, I didn't have a single one permitting me to play an Ogre Pirate...
Off I went to Google, and a couple of hours-a-searching later I stumbled upon the Sartosa rules... which bring me back to the Mordheim rulesset (that almost made the circle complete LOL)
Now that I have quite the collection of pirates, there was something nagging me : with all the scenery from the club, try as we might, we were never able to dress a table in a piratey-feeling, so I decided that 2012 would be my scenery-year (with the occasional units/warbands in between, of course)
I started making loose scenery, so that I can turn any which table into a pirate-table.
Google is my friend, and thus I arrived at this 'boring' forum.... and boy oh boy, it is interesting!
I'll share my first scenery with you soon.
Talk to you later on the forums!
