PostSubject: Shamdit's assorted warbands and hired swords   Sat 31 Dec 2011 - 5:55

G'day all,

I've been lurking around this website for quite a while looking over the warbands and terrain that people have made. These have inspired me to create my own Mordheim warbands without needing to take them out of the Warhammer armies that I've collected. I suppose that's enough rambling for the time being and get on with the point at hand. So I've decided to post some of the miniatures I've completed so far to hopefully gain some critics and comments to assist with the motivation to finish these.

Orc Warband
Orc Boss

Two axes, dagger, light armour and helmet

Orc Shaman

Haven't really decided yet, great weapon maybe.

Big Uns

Sword, dagger, torch and helmet

Halberd, dagger and torch

Lad's got talent

Great weapon and dagger

Orc Boys

Axes or choppa's, daggers and shields

Halberds and daggers

Crossbows and daggers

Morning stars, daggers and shields

Goblins

Spears and daggers

Shortbows and daggers

Squigs

Troll

Black Orcs Boss

Axe, dagger, shield, heavy armour and helmet

Black Orcs

Great weapon, dagger, heavy armour and helmet

Middenland Mercs
Champion

Sword, dagger, shield and heavy armour

Wolf Priest wolf transformation

Wolf Companion

Hired Swords
Witch

Black Orc Overseer

Halfling Scout

Warlock

Elf Ranger

Troll Slayer

I still have quite a few things still on the painting table that need completing. That should be all for now, til next time.

Cheers

Well that's a FINE way to introduce yourself!...WELCOME to Cool Tom the A's Sleep Yet Occasionally Inspiring Nonetheless Mordheim Forum. Have a FUN stay. cheers
Doing War Bands is a liberating experience after laboring away on large, formed units of minis...enjoy the experience. The Lads & Lass are really VERY NICELY DONE. Being a Goblin Guy, I think the Short Greenies are the coolest of the mix. Keep 'em coming! thumbsup

Bravo Mate.
I agree... The Goblins look particularly awesome, beautiful green skin tones.
I also particularly like that Big Un carrying the pig, neat modelling.

G'day all,

Progress has been fairly slow lately due to that Aus has finally realised that it is summer down here and to act accordingly. High 30 degree days with high humidity is not very pleasant pale.

@DeafNala
Cheers mate. I'll admit that I have a soft spot for the little buggars myself as the last tournament I entered was a Bloodbowl tournament with a Goblin team. If only there was a Common Goblin list in Mordheim, I know that there is a Night Goblin and a Forest Goblin but no Common Goblin one.

@Ed
That model had very little done to it, just mainly adding a sword to his back. The model is of an Orc Raider from GW and when I saw it I thought it would be perfect for a Mordheim big un due to all the loot he was carrying.

Only a couple of Hired Swords have been completed due the for mentioned heat bringing things to a halt.

Beast Hunter

Not completely satisified with the base as I tried something new and I don't think it worked as I desired.

Pit Fighter

That's all for now. Any comments and critics are welcome.

Cheers.

VERY NICELY DONE! Both of the Lads painted up WONDERFULLY. thumbsup
I think the problem with the Hunter's base is the grass. If you glued the static grass between the paving stones it would give the natural appearance of growing through the cracks...it's one of the things I do with my own bases. What a Face

I like those squigs! I had a friend who used to paint his in apricot, and that looks like a very similar color. I like to paint mine pumpkin orange.

The shading and detail on your models are excellent all around but I still love the squigs...
