I have been working on some mordheim scenery. And I thought building a ship would be fun. So I started with a small boat
And then I thought... why not...
So now I have finished this piece of moving scenery, and it is waiting to be painted. Islands and other ships should come next.
I just thought I should share that with you.

The boat & her larger companion are BEAUTIFULLY crafted pieces...thanks for sharing. With all the interest in things piratical you're sure to get an enthusiastic response to your post...something along the lines of a universal OH BABY! I'm looking forward to your dockside works.

It is all made of cardboard, excluding the grate of the lower deck (which is made from a plastic mobile phone protection sleeve), and the inside of the masts (which are made of wood sticks surrounded by... guess what... cardboard!)
I made my own plans for the ships. I intend to build several other ships, in order to accomodate another pirate warband (a smaller, faster and more maneauverable ship) and my skaven (two twin transport boats of ancient chinese style)
I am thinking of building something similar to a group of small islands as terrain. Not sure yet.

That is superb!
There is a scenario on the old Mordheimer website called river pirates. You have most likely seen it or have something similar in mind. Would love to see this painted and with some crew.
Excellent work. Now for the docks!

That is one nice boat... eh... ship. You don't happen to have any work in progress shots of it, do you? I'd be very interested in how the whole thing went from "cardboard skeleton" to "breathtakingly stunning".

Very Impressive.... do you have plan to share ?
Unfortunately, I don't. I made a mess of a CAD file. Maybe some day I will get true plans, but not till I am done with this.

I do have shots of the whole process in my dakka gallery. You can get to it by clicking on the pics, I think.
Guess what's going on:
Undercoated
Basecoated
Then black ink applied and sails painted in a yellowish tone
I still need to do the windows and highlight the whole thing

I will try to get better pics and coseups (maybe even a vid) as I can borrow a good camera. That will be after a coat of varnish, however.
This is the current estate of the painting: Everything is done. It went quite faster than expected, but the yellow gradients were a pain.
And with my mordheim warband members on it, in order to better show the scale of the ship:

Thanks, by the way - I haven'T thought of clicking your pics.
Consider your ship design stolen shamelessly.

It looks brilliant - I do have one suggestion though... if you made the deck a shade or two lighter than the rest of the woodwork it would make it look just that much cooler.

What's that "next ship"? Wonderful! Here's to the Armada!
While the first ship was supposed to be sometype of ship-of-the-line, or belong to an armada before it was taken by pirates, the next boat will be more... exotic. Like a smaller corsair ship from the Mediterranean Sea.
