The Battle Of Osso Hills HPIM9837

In the wilds of the Osso Hills, in the centre of Sartosa, the Ironfang Pirate Orcs encountered the Orcs of the Horned Skull Tribe. Since there was noone else around to fight the two bands of greenskins thought nothing of laying into each other!

At the far right hand end of the battlefield there was a cliff face with the remains of ancient carvings - Arcane Ruins (Wizards within 6" roll 4d6 for channelling).

Ironfangs Turn 1

The Rotmoons and Hogwashas Squabled but the Rotmoons charged, though they failed to reach, the Stompaz and so moved El Doctoro into range of the Arcane Ruins' power.
The pirate Trolls failed their Stupidity test on Warboss Leadership and ambled forwards slowly.
One Looted Kannon (Spear Chukka) was temporarily disabled after a minor misfire.
Murlok the Shaman miscast 'Ere We Go and lost all magic levels and spells.

(This was a very poor turn, but the last of the Ironfang's bad luck!)

Horned Skull Turn 1

Da Tuff Wunz (The Horned Skull's Black Orcs) were scooped up by the Hand of Gork and set down in front of the Horned Skull's lines.

The Battle Of Osso Hills HPIM9846

The Horned Skull's had no problems with Animosity and their Shaman, Maddog Urzak, cast Fists of Gork.

The Battle Of Osso Hills HPIM9845

The Horned Skull's Boar Boyz and Trolls refused to charge the Fishmen (maybe due to the smell?) and stayed firmly stuck on the top of the large central hill.

The Battle Of Osso Hills HPIM9847

Ironfangs Turn 2

The Gloomwyrms were moved via the Hand of Gork over the central hill onto the left flank of the Horned Skull's Boar Boyz.
Grapeshot the Giant, the pirate Trolls, Adm'rul Kurgan and the Hogwashas all charged Da Tuff Wunz (Hogwashas were 14" away, so needed to roll 10. They rolled 11 and hit the Black Orcs' flank!)

Da Tuff Wunz are beaten and broke, only 5 of them got away but they fled through Da Stompaz.

The Battle Of Osso Hills HPIM9850

Grapeshot the Giant chased them and charged into the Boyz with the Horned Skull's only Shaman Maddog Urzak.
The Hogwashas turned to face the HS Big'Unz.

The Battle Of Osso Hills HPIM9851

Horned Skull Turn 2

The Horned Skull's Stone Trolls Hand of Gork to threaten the flank of the Hogwashas.
Grapeshot the Giant picked up Kurug Hogbreff (Black Orc Big Boss, Battle Standard Bearer) and hurled him back into his unit (Da Stompaz), which killed him outright but didn't hurt anyone else in the unit.
The Shaman did two Fists of Gork boosted wounds and the Boyz of the Stompaz did another - but the Giant didn't break and the fight continued...

Ironfangs Turn 3

The Horned Skull's Boar Boyz were destroyed by the combined charge of the Gloomwyrms from their flank and the Fishmen from their front.
The Super-channelling El Doctoro was overcharged and accidentally incinerated 3 of the Rotmoons!
The Hogwashas routed the Horned Skull's Arrer Boyz.

Horned Skull Turn 3

Kurgan killed Ead Krakka (The Boss of the Smashaz) in a challenge but the Hogwashas are routed by the Smashaz (Big'Unz) and Warboss Goulag Headbutter.
The pirate Trolls were panicked by the Hogwashas breaking, they fled through the Rotmoons and thier near-by gun but luckily neither of them were panicked by the Trolls' passing.

Ironfangs Turn 4

The Rotmoons broke the Stompaz (Orc Boyz) with Grapeshot's help, ran them down and charged into the remaining Tough Wunz Black Orcs. The Horned Skull's Shaman, Maddog Urzak, was swept away with the Stompaz.
The Fishmen and the Gloomwyrms destroyed the Horned Skull's Stone Trolls.
Fishmen charged the Smashaz (Big'Unz).

Horned Skull Turn 4

Da Tough Wunz Black Orcs were pounded and chased off by the Rotmoons.
The Fishmen recaptured Hogwasha's standard and swept away the Smashaz, who fled through the pirate Giant and the Rotmoons, who all took a few swipes as they went by.

Ironfangs Turn 5

The Rotmoons caught, ran down and destroyed the Smashaz - with that slaughter the Horned Skull army was destroyed!

The worst casualties taken by the Ironfang Pirates were in the Hogwashas, who lost 75% of their number and the Trolls who fled. The other units were almost unscathed!
