First mordheim building ever! (WIP)

Hey all!

So today I decided that now was the time to start doing some buildings! Until now we have been playing with books as buildings (which SUCKS )!

So went to the arcitect school which have a store and bought what I needed and now a couple of hours later:

I decided to do a dockside warehouse, but sadly I ran out of glue, so I have to go and get some more tomorrow so I can finish it!

UPDATE MAY 27TH 2011:

So I pretty much finished the warehouse and even bended to the preasure and added a ladder for the damned dwarfs! I might change it though, I think it looks a bit oversized.... ANYWAY! I even finished another building which will be a butchers shop and it even have a public outhouse around the corner! Hope you all like it

















I wanted the roof on the new house to be more flat so it would alove my skavens to scurry across the roof tops

UPDATE 30th MAY 2011:

Today I have finished another building which I intend to be a townhall! It really took me a while and so far this is my favourit (the newest is always my favourit, lol )! I hope you enjoy!











The last picture is taken in "dwarf-view"... That's what the dwarfs will have to overcome, when they have to follow my fast and easy-crawling skaven into the tower! MUHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
Right now I have also started on my next piece, which is a rich merchants mansion, but more of that later...

I inspired you to do this, didn't I? (lol!) I take full credit for that great building!

Seriously though, that's very good for a first attempt! Now make some ladders or a staircase to connect the floors and you're pretty much set!

The roof and the floorboards are well done. If this is your first building than you'r off to a cracking start.
At first I thought the windows on the upper floor were a bit small but when I realised it was a dockside warehouse they made moore sense.
I'm looking forward to seeing this completed.

Regardless of how many other buildings you have or haven't made, that is an EXCELLENT looking building...the roof is exceptionally well done. Keep up the FINE WORK!

Wow! Didn't expect so many kind words

This IS my first atempt EVER on making a tabletop building, but ofcourse I read a tutorial or two on this forum! But let me point out, it's not near finished, but as I said I ran out of glue (actuall used an entire glue on it so far... Bought it this morning!) but I will get more tomorrow and then I'll finish the timbered walls and maybe even a third floor, close under the roof. I also plan to add wooden floor to the first floor and ofcourse, lots of rubble....

And regarding the staircase/ladder, just let me tell you that my main enemy right now in the campaign are playing dwarfs and seeing that I play clan eshin skavens, I think I'll enjoy those "little people" struggling with initiativ tests to try and crawl up after me while I shower them with projectiles from my slings sooooo no.... No ladders!

BTW theo, I'm not sure what you mean? What building are you refering to? And just so we are clear: I intend to take credit for this hehe...

Nice job there bud! Your style is far cleaner than mine! And youre just starting as well. Keep posting!

An auspicious start! I love the roof in particular. The windows are also very appropriate as smokezombie states. Have you thought about doing some sort of crane/pulley system to get stuff on the second floor? A simple thick stick of balsa protruding from the roof beam would be appropriate, and you might even construct a pulley if you have any LEGO's lying aroung (which I unfortunately don't). This part in particular would do the job, methinks, if you glued a few of them together...

In any case, congratulations on a great-looking building!

Thanks warrior and eric! Yes I was planning on making something like that, not out of lego though.... But i consider that a part of the finish where I will also add corpses, crates, weapons, etc!

The government of mordheim had to earn money somehow so they put up public toilet all over town and charged people 1 cent a "pop" and one of their mottos was "full transparancy" so they didn't install doors lol!

Thanks everyone I can't wait till next weekend when I will be playing with the new buildings and hopefully I will have time to finish 2 or 3 more!

And btw, Joao S, all it takes is time and patience the materials really doesn't cost much and it's WAY easier than I thought!

Well, I had my first go at balsa wood yesterday and it went reasonably well. Now, making buildings like that still scares me a bit.

But anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how yours is going to turn out.

You are more than welcome smokezombie (and anyone else for that reason)... But alas, I live in denmark, so that might be a bit to far to go

I think I'm going to need a longer rope.
The town hall looks good, storage must not be a problem for you. I wish I could say the same.

Haha, funny you should say that, my girlfriend just complained about clearing the diningtable and pack my stuff away
