Wow. That's quite a project. His temple is amazing, but his people don't do it justice.

However, with the tempe scaled to half an inch figures, it could be easily adapted to wargaming, I suppose

That would have been fun, if the sentence had read "wargamers from all over the world came to see his temple" and not boing archaeologists!

Its very amazing yes, saddens me that even something of this exposure you still get the same old sh!t people finding something to complain about....its a great piece and I wish I had that kind of dedication to one thing....that man deserves an award of some kind...

I'm not so sure if he really means that he won't be able to finish it, or if he means it the way you always use it when saying that a terrain piece is never finished - that you keep adding stuff to it all the time. That's how I understand it.

Remarkable; I didn't think anyone would ACTUALLY remember something I said; I know I tend to disregard my own remarks. I'll HAVE to be careful of what I say in the future.

It WOULD, however, be WONDERFUL if he lived the many long years it would take for him to be satisfied the Temple was complete.

It's damn impressive yes, but he didn't know how to use green stuff, what a mess ! 3 hours for each mini, the result isn't as good as it can be done I'm sorry for him, he's an excellent architect, not sculptor

With 4000 miniatures, he should have asked some sculptor to make like 40 different types and cast each 100 times Still, there's nothing you can say against the temple itself.

It is a really awesome piece - no doubt. But there's no way me, or most of us, can overlook the horrible "miniatures" (I'm not sure the word is even apropriate). As a true perfectonist he should have come up with something better. Maybe he wanted to not use products by another company and instead make everything 100% himself. Personally I wouldn't have wanted to lower the quality of such a project by using subpar figures. But that's my opinion and if he like his figures best because, well, they are his, then he surely made the right decision. But no one, especially coming from the miniatures hobby, should be blamed for critizing the quality of the figures. They do stand out in this piece - in a sadly bad way.

Anyways... Now I'm not into large scale battles but playing a huge game of Warmaster Historical with that... ooueeeh!! *

this is just an assumption but having made 4000 would probably make you a pretty darned good sculptor
I'm guessing these are carved. and carving four thousand has to take some patience, not even counting painting them and making them look different. I'd say they're tabletop.
cause I don't know how many of us acctually paint eyes and/or beard on each individual warmaster rank let alone individual.
It does make you interested in some guerilla wargaming though

"Pretty damn impressive" is in my opinion the biggest understatement I've heard, ever. This thing is on scale with that one Vampire Counts siege sculpture in the back of the 6th Ed Vamp book... it's just that incredible.
