Skavenblight's Kislevites

I don't know how it's possible but no one have seen any pics of this warband. I painted it almost a year ago. And I have to admit, I don't really like it... I could paint them better but surprisingly, they look good on the photos

The first 3 minis are my Captain, bear tamer and the bear.

They do look good indeed! I love the rat on the bear's base.

Now show us the rest of the warband! Do you have all the original Mordheim Kislevite models? Those are quite rare now.

Very good job! I really like Ursus the bear... he looks a little daft and cuddly. Not exactyl a predator Cute!

Very good work on the skin too. Shading is, as usual, impeccable.

Just one thing: the captain's face does not contrast enough... something should be done about that, time permitting.

Nice Kislevites, Skavenblight. The bear tamer is particularly nice. Is that the original bear that comes with the tamer? I can't remember, since they've been unavailable for so long. As Cianty says, the original Kislevite models are rare now. I have the Boyar (nice model, that one, and you do it justice with the blues and reds), and I have the Kislevite Command blister from WH - with some conversions, I'll have another three hero models for a Mordheim warband. Other than that, it's going to have to be conversions...although I do have the old Wood Elf bear model.

All of which is a long-winded way of getting to the question: do you have more Kislevites? This is a nice looking warband so far, and I really want to see more of them! Nice work.

I REALLY like your style of painting & your color choices. I hadn't realized that the Boyar was THAT well detailed until I saw your VERY well done rendition; excellent mini. The Bear Tamer, Bear, & Rat ROCK! You've GOT TO get the Kapitan to do up some Kislevite conversions for you to paint. GREAT STUFF as always!

VERY NICE!

All three are VERY well done, but the Esaul REALLY is outstanding. Who makes the Youngbloods? They don't look to be GW's. As always, EXCELLENT WORK!

Thanks! I couldn't figure why I didn't remember them [other than imminent senility ]; SO...I went hunting them out in the GW catalog. I found them in the '04 catalog; they were dropped from the '05-'06 listing. That's a pretty short life span EVEN for GW.

Cool! I have to say, I really like this warband a lot. I especially like your name painting style with the cool background on the base. Very effective!

The Blue Lads turned out outstanding. I realize that the Kislevites are supposed to be "Russian", but, because of the Winged Hussars, I tend to think of them as "Polish"; ergo, this is a VERY appropriate Warband for you to lavish your CONSIDERABLE talent upon. WELL DONE!

So they are Polish, not Russian

Ok, the last part of henchmen.
I had Kislev command group, one mini was used for my esaul, but there were standard bearer and musician too. I don't think I will need them in Mordheim But I painted them anyway.
This is my first freehand (on standard).

I LOVE the musician's horn, VERY COOL! Actually you CAN equip a hero with a banner, which would be a cool addition to the Warband. WELL DONE, WOMAN!

I have seen people count "banners" as "spears," but haven't heard of banners being anything else... I guess a warhorn could count as a club...

The Banner is an item available from the Opulent Goods article in the '02 Annual [a once only "annual" ], 10gc, Rare 5. It give a reroll on "All Alone" test for friendly models within 12".
The Shadow Warriors have a War Horn option, but, otherwise, I'm not sure if anyone else can carry one "officially". It raises LD +1 (max 10) once per game for 25gc, Rare 6; can be sounded before a Route test.
I'm a fount of TRULY useless information.

Addendum: the War Horn is listed in the Olde Curiosity Shoppe. 30+2D6gc Rare 8, otherwise the same as the Shadow Warriors' War Horn. The article is also in the '02 Annual.
