Does the Specialist Games Forum move eventually?

There has been announcements for ages, and now it seems that the forum moves eventually... at least I can't access it anymore and are redirected to the shiny new GW site...

Has anyone heard about it or does know when the forum will be back again?

As of this morning, it says the specialist forum web-page does not exist. When I click the specialist games website, it takes me to the GW site.

Where did the forums go? Are they coming back?

I hope so... they said they are just going to move them... however, a little note that this will be now could have been helpful

A few weeks ago I inquired as to the status of joining the forums (sign up was turned off), and was told by GW that the sign up was turned off until the forums had been moved to a new server.

So, I believe that the forums will be back up. However, if the rate of change was the same as when the US site updated, things that are not directly related to sales will be slow in getting done. When the US site moved, I was told that elements that were no longer available there would be added back eventually, but that the priority was making the store work.

I do hope the Specialist forums do reappear eventually, though.

It may take a bit but they should be back.

The Specialist Games Forums were handed over to another established forum. An email was sent to people (I think it was dependent on being signed up for the Fanatic Online newsletter) asking for permission to transfer their details across.

As I rarely visited the SG forums I didn't bother to grant permission and deleted the email, otherwise I would have been able to provide you with a link.

I'm sure a link will be provided on the GW homepage soon enough.

Yeah, I got the e-mail and asked to be included in the move - I guess I just didn't realize they'd be down for a time. Oh well, here's to hoping they get back up soon!

There are a few issues but the forum will be back up but on another server that is not GW.

There were a few issues with the new UK GW website that caused the forum not to function properly.

I am being told one week to two weeks it will be up and running again.

They have a certain reputation for treating their customers badly.

(and the customers have a certain tendency to rationalize this bad treatment)

Here's the link to where the forum will be once they get all the data transerred. Iain is having problems converting the data from GW into the right format to run on his forum software but I'm sure he'll get it sorted soon. He's started uploading some of the old PDF files back onto the site though.

Hey thanks for that. I've been missing that site. The more forums the merrier, for me - keeps me from actually working when I'm at work.
