I've no problem with it. Ramble on. In general I agree. I find that I get along with artistic types who believe life is about expression and cultivation of the soul. I personally happen to believe this so much that I have trouble working, at least for money, and its my main hurdle in life. Right now, I'm happily unemployed, and spend all my time doing martial arts, painting, wargaming and can pursue my hobbies with complete abandon - its great, but I run into a lot of folks who get infuriated by it.

| Bwahahaha! Well met, sir. You deflected my 'awkward' and delivered your own riposte with flair. And an old fart? Your profile says you're a year younger than me! | |

| Old fart is a state of mind, mind you, rather than actual age Of course it can be both, which makes you a really old shart. Anyway, enogh with the off topic Im a nerd/geek and Im pretty darn proud of it! |

| I'm a number 4. I fully accept that fact that I'm geeky/nerdy and I support it. But I don't follow the stereo type. I don't really dress too geeky except for the one or two shirts. I don't talk about the geeky stuff or wargaming unless someone asks me. Of course, if you visit my apartment, you'll know I'm a geek/nerd. | |

| It's always strange to me when I see one type of nerd giving another type of nerd a hard time for their chosen obsession.
I still play Pokemon too. Ninetails is my favorite, and I can do the Team Rocket intro from memory.

| Pokemon?! I bought me and Mrs 5Pointer Black and White last weekend Looking forward to getting started (which means trading each of the starters across to Mrs 5P, for her to trade two back to me so that we each get all three starters ) But in terms of geek, I'm just completely open about it, to anyone who veers anywhere near a geeky topic. | |

| I'm kinda 3.5-ish, but I went for 3. I don't mind people finding out about my hobby, if they don't at least accept it I don't wanna be with them anyway. Everyone seems cool with it though. Theo | |

| I used to be a geek, now I'm a professional . . . geek.
In all seriousness, I have the geekiest job, ever, so it all works out.
Incidentally, where I am from "nerd' is a little derogatory — it means fanaticism without skill. Geeks, however, exercise some skill in whatever they're fanatical about. Most of us on these boards (that paint, model, etc) are geeks, in my opinion.

| I'm mostly a 3. I usaully don't tell people on the streets that i'm a geek. Just mostly my friends and a few co workers. I have learned NOT to tell potental dates about my Wathammer Hobbly, until they visit my apartment. My warhammer models are on display in a glass tower thingy from Ikea. I figured by then, they won't really care about my hobbyes.
Yeah, some of my friends and co workers tease me about warhammer but it's always in good fun. There are plently of stuff to tease them about. But there are times when I talked about table top wargames to some women and it didnt end well (ie: no date).
In the end, I'm not ashamed of my geekyness at all. My hobbies keep me happy and out of trouble. I keep on telling the girlfriends and women when they tease or complain, that "Hey, I could be spending this amount of time and money on hookers and drugs. At least you know im not getting into trouble or worse...".

| Or worse yet, Flip, Jerseys! It's geeky to paint miniatures, but wearing a jersey of an actual human being that doesn't know who are isn't odd? I never got that one.

| What gets me is when their team that they watch and follow wins a game. The fans shout "We did it! We won! Blah blah blah..." What do you mean "WE"? The team won, not you. You just watched the game. The team played it. Never got that one either.... Wait...we should totally make some Mordhiem Jerserys!! Go Team Marienbutg!!!! Or better yet, get ones for Blood Bowl. | |

| I'm mostly a 4 now. I try not to dress nerdy when I'm in public. I don't talk about my geek stuff unless someone talks about it first. Im not ashmend of my nerdy stuff, just most people (women) don't understand it.
