Ghouls and misc equipment

In Ghoul's Weapons/Armour rules say that "... few bones which they use as primitive weapons"
So, if ghoul is a hero and buys a Black Lotus poison, is this possible, since he actually has a weapon to do so?
And this rule: "Ghouls never carry any equipment". Does it restrict only Armour, helmet and shield/buckler, but not misc. items?

It restricts all equipment. Some groups have a house rule to allow miscellaneous equipment for ghoul heroes (e.g. the necromancer hangs a lucky charm around the ghouls neck).

+1 to restricts all equipment. We allow them to use lucky charms and rabbits feet, but don't let them have anything else.

Such a shame. This rule should have been a ghoul's special rule, not under weapons/armour.
