| Several BtB warbands have the ability to purchase Cathayan silk cloaks, but I can't find them on an item list anywhere. Is a Merchant or Battle Monk warband able to purchase silk cloaks after embark? Do silk cloaks do anything? They don't appear to have rules anywhere. If these can be purchased, is it just 40 crowns or is there a variable cost and a rarity?
Are there any other Cathayan silk items that satisfy the Lure of Fortune, or is it only the cloak and the clothes? Sorry if this is just a huge oversight on my part, I can't find mention of silk cloaks anywhere. Thanks!

| Border town burning is only a suplement. You need the Mordheim rule book to play it propely. in the 39. page you can find it. "Cathayan Silk Clothes (RB 39); 50+2D6; Availability: gc Rare 9 Some rich warband leaders like to flaunt their wealth and purchase clothes made out of silk from distant Cathay. This silk is the most expensive fabric in the known world, and wearing such clothes is asure way to attract attention – especially thieves and assassins! Any Mercenary warband whose leader is wearing silk clothes may re-roll the first failed Rout test. However, after each battle in which the leader is taken out of action, roll a D6. On a roll of 1-3 the clothes are ruined and must be discarded."It is necessary due the champing system. | |

| Sorry I should have clarified, I know clothes are in the main rulebook. Cloaks are mentioned several times throughout BtB as items that can be found, but have no distinct rules. Are they functionally the same as clothes? If not, can they be purchased after creating a warband? I'd much rather pay 40 than 50+2d6 if I can avoid it.
Lure of Fortune refers to silk items, implying there is more than one type.

| well cloaks are a type of clothes aren't they? if not they are items without function for others only count for warbands with the lure of fortune. other silk items:
(1 1 1) Trembling Bushes On the fringe of the plains, you spot what appears to be a large thorn bush. It looks out of place in the brush and its branches sway in the breeze. After rubbing your eyes, the bush disappears! Could it just be the mind playing tricks or is there something more to this? You decide to investigate. Entering the brush, you find a long strand of what is identified to be raw silk. It trails off through a grove in the direction of a nearby valley and then it just ends. Coiling up the thick thread, the piece of silk is found to be worth 50 +2D6 gold crowns.
basically raw silk worth 50+2d6 gc (same as silk clothes , maybe cloaks could worth the same...)
As Battle monks can not choose the lure of fortune I think cloaks=clothes as only they leader can wear it.
The wording "item" maybe refer to players can invent other goods made of silk. Maybe introduce a new sceanario where the can rob/prevent the robbing a silk warehouse..

| I think it is a clarity of language problem. The rulebook is rife with rules that reference the same thing but use different terms. Most fan-made supplements continue the practice, it makes things interesting.

Check out the Mordheim Living Rulebook (page 39 as Athanatosz wrote): the item is called "cathayan silk cloak" ( see here e.g.). Now take a look at the Price Chart on page 104: It names the item "Cathayan Silk Clothes" ( see here e.g.) They are the same thing.
