Dougie's Chapel WIP Empty
PostSubject: Dougie's Chapel WIP   Dougie's Chapel WIP Icon_minitimeFri 9 Oct 2015 - 19:04

Hey Guys,

So I've had a GW chapel hanging around for a while. I like the model but it's a little small and hard to fit into Mordheim terrain but I decided to give it a go.

I decided to make a little chapel with a graveyard that might serve a small quarter of the city. I like the macabre idea that necromancers and other sinister denizens had raided the graves and Chapel after the meteors hit.

Here's a pretty bad top down pic at the middle stages (sorry I didn't think to take any sooner than this). The hill is made of standard packing polystyrene that I carved then covered papier mache style with package paper and pva/water:

The fences are toothpicks and the walkway is just thin balsa that's been carved. Basically the same technique I used for the merchants house:

So again sorry I didn't take enough pictures of the process, the next piece I do I will document well if it's something you guys are interested in seeing!

Here are some more pictures in it's current, nearly finished state, any comments, suggestions or criticisms welcome as always:

Nope, that looks great. I really like the green, The wooden porch is looks good, and the fence works well, I love how hopeless the fence is. It's not going to stop anybody, but it tries so hard. It's very Mordheim.

That is a WONDERFULLY crafted, suitably eerie scene. I love the open graves & the rickety fence. VERY WELL DONE!   thumbsup

Can you access the interior as per the first photo? Or was that just for structure for the ruined roof?

Either way the piece is very evocative of Mordheim. Well done.

Thanks guys,

Kurst - the Chapel can still be opened yes, but I haven't detailed the interior. My plan is to get a light to put in there as quite a few of the windows in the chapel are possible to see through. So I thought it'd be really cool to have a weird green (other colour suggestions welcome) glow coming through the windows and up through the floorboards! Suggesting some sort of nefarious deeds being done in the interior of the chapel.

Any suggestions on what lights to use would be really welcome!

Dougie.

Yes, very nice. Something other than the usual painting. That's good.

Thanks guys!

I'll get some shots of the inside, but like I said there's not much to see.

Anyone got any tips on lights to put in the interior?

Dougie
