| A couple of weeks ago, I took my eldest son, Warre, to a sci-fi con. He had a blast looking at all the Cosplayers, ogling the shiny old toys and playing demo games. First he tried X-Wing as he is by all means into Star Wars, and afterwards we played a game of Zombicide. During the game it became clear that he was really enjoying himself, and when questioned later he did say Zombicide was a blast for him. At this moment he is enjoying a 2-week holiday in Portugal with his brother and mom (my wife works in a school so she’s got almost 2 full months of ‘not working’) So I decided to surprise him; bought the game (Season 2 : Prison outbreak) last Tuesday evening with the full intention to paint it up completely before their return. Here’s where I am at now : Walkers (or as I prefer to call them, shamblers/shufflers) Fattys : Survivors/Zombivors : To-do list : °12 Runners °12 Walkers/Shamblers/Shufflers °1 Abomination °4 Survivors °4 Zombivors And then there’s still 29 ‘Berzerker Zombies (with different rules from the rest of them), a mix of Fattys, Walkers, Runners and another Abomination Target-date = Monday the 10th of august in the evening

| COOL STUFF! Now you need a Michael Jackson Zombie to lead the Living Impaired Chorus Line into action...or not. Forgetting the fact you had to speed paint the Horde, they all turned out SPLENDIDLY...especially the Big Guys. Your brushwork, bases, & choices of color are all OUTSTANDING. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Thanks! But I did indeed cut a couple (well, quite a couple actually) of corners there... °First off because of the time constraint, °Secondly because these figs will be manhandled by my two sons (6 and 8 years old) so I really don't want to go all out on the paintjob, and then see everything chip away in a couple of weeks.months °And finally, the figs aren't really 100% good quality... there's mold-lines in very bad places, details are missing here and there on one fig, but present on the other, details aren't very pronounced on one fig, overly pronounced on the other, ... But I am ( let's be very clear on this) NOT complaining about the quality... There are 90 figs in that 100€ box... That means 1.10€ per fig. At that price per fig (and that calculation doesn't even take into consideration the rulebook, gaming tiles, gaming cards and counters) the quality and amount of detail on these figs is actually quite astounding! Oh and the big guys? Well, of course I couldn't resist giving them some more attention than the normal fellas. They'll be the eye-catchers anyway, so might just as well take care that their paintjob is up-to-par Oh, and most of the survivors are bases on movie/popular culture characters, so I have had my fingers crossed for a Michael Jackson Survivor/Zombivor | |

| Oh yes, we were very happy to be reunited. And boy, were they pleased when they discovered the box. And even more when they saw the painted contents. We played the introductory game yesterday evening (didn't quite finish it yet). Here's where we are at now : Our survivors are on the bottom-right. We need to exit through the yellow rectangle marked 'Exit' But there's tons of Zombies in the way, including an Abominition, against whom we don't have a weapon that's strong enough to even start to hurt him... So I think we'll have to walk around the building, luring the Zombies behind us; maybe even get in a car and start driving over them in stead of shooting/slashing our way through. The problem will be the Zombies in the basketball court though... At the moment they are bunched behind a closed door, which we need to open to get out... And there's already three Fattys behind that door... In any case, the game really reflects the feeling op hopelessness you get in Zombie flicks. Those Zombies really are everywhere, and they just keep on coming! Oh, and Nils, my youngest son? I think he's inherited his fathers' luck with the dice. Come on boy, roll three dice... Every 3+ kills a Zombie... OK, so we didn't kill any Zombies... No biggie, you can roll again for your second action, we'll get them... OK, so triple 1 eh?... Run boy, run!!! | |

| That does look SPLENDID...the sense of Imminent Doom is palpable. GREAT STUFF! I can relate with Nils & yourself; i.e., at seven, my Great Uncle Gus informed me: "Kid, if it wasn't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all." That prophetic warning has proved useful over the years. | |

| On Crisis Antwerp last weekend, at the second hand fair, I scored a box "Murder of Crowz', still in shrinkwrap, at half the price. Finished painting them yesterday evening and played a game with Warre and Nils today including them. Fun little critters the lot of them, not a very heavy threat, but from the moment they appear on the board, no matter how far they are from your survivors, you need to take them into account immediately as they fly very, very fast Painting them went smoothly and quickly, save for the 180 zombie-crow-eyes ... I consider myself luchy their feet & claws are black... | |

| Well, in the meantime I played them, and they do feel Hitchcockish, they ignore all obstacles and are superfast... In the meantime I painted up a couple more survivors, a group of meddling kids : And of Daphne I've got a second version too (a freebie added by Hasslefree to my order), with a rediculously oversized gun: To be able to play them, I found these unofficial stat-cards online : I'm curious to see how well they'll perform at hacking and slashing zombies | |
