| My question is: Are you able to divide shots between different targets if the weapon you use has multiple shots?
This is especially for usage of quick shot, slings and repeater crossbows. But what about a brace of pistols or double barrelled weapons.
I have argued that it isn't said in the rules that you are able to. The only weapon + skill combination is throwing knifes and the knife-fighter skill. But my playing mate has different thoughts. IRL you are able to shoot at different targets with a repeater crossbow.
What are your thoughts about this?

| I thought that there was an FAQ about this, but I have just spent too much time reading FAQs and found nothing to support my memory. So I agree that the ability is only granted to throwing knives through the skill Knife Fighter.
Since it is specifically mentioned as allowed with one weapon through a specific skill, its a pretty good bet it is NOT allowed with other weapons that fire twice or through the skill Quick Shot.

IRL you'll always be able to shoot at whatever you want to. The multi-shooters let you shoot twice but not to disregard the rules for targeting. You take the first shot and if there's a target you have to shoot at then that's where the first shot goes. If the target is knocked down or removed then the targeting for the second shot is freed up.

| Ok thanks! Hitting with the with first shot and getting the target to the ground and then shoot somewhere else with the second, is a good compromise.
Ok I will show it to my mate. (I'm glad I found this forum, and that there are still people playing the tabletop version of the mordheim game).

| It's actually not even a compromise, it's how the rules for tageting in the shooting phase works. You can read them on pages 13 and 14 in the rulebook. If you're on the same level as your targets you have to shoot at the closest unless it is knocked down, stunned or there's something else that's easier to hit. Shooting multiple times should follow these same rules. For example, a quick shot guy on an elevated level will (usually) be able to pick any target he wants to shoot at with both shots. | |

Interesting. We've always gone with both shots having to be at closest target, taken simultaneously, and when shooting from an elevated position, you may pick two targets to shoot at, since you may pick your target. Seems there are different takes on this, and I would love to see the debate!

| A FAQ compilation I got from Mordheimer site has a section that says it is an official FAQ from Specialist games site. It states that with multiple shooting attacks you may decide before each shot is taken. Yes, shooting rules for nearest enemy, elevated position, etc. will still apply. | |

A: He may decide before each shot. That's where it is! Drove me crazy because I couldn't find it earlier. Thanks Mike. We played by it for awhile, (although since I couldn't find the FAQ, I started to worry it was one of those things I just made up...) then it was just easier (and faster) to just shoot all shots at the same target. With my luck, more effective as well.

| My group even thou aware of the proper ruling made it that you cannot split shots and that it has to be against the same target even elevated because some players were so slow and indecisive on who to shoot, we don't play with them anymore so we went back to being able to split shots. | |
