| Does anyone know if there's anywhere in the Warhammer world that's like Africa (with regards to the species of animals that live there and general habitat) also is it at all close to Mordheim? Inspired by Ethlorien's post about the elephantaur I'm wanting to start a tzeench beastmen warband (after I finish my clan pestilens skaven) that's got an African feel to it: Beastlord: Lion head Shaman: Bird head Bestigor: Wildebeest heads Centigor: Body and head of a quagga (a bit like a zebra, but they're extinct now) Gor: Not sure yet, any ideas? Ungor: Using kroot mercenary parts to make them look like f**ked up bird people Minotaur: Elephant head! Chaos Hounds: Sabretusks | |

| I believe the Southlands are considered Africa in Warhammer. It's where the Savage orcs come from, I think.
I love the idea of your warband, by the way. Very cool. For a Gor, you could leave them, perhaps - counts as goat. Or, may Bestigor a Rhino head and Gors wildebeest.
Or, Tiger heads... | |

| Yeah I was thinking maybe rhinos for bestigor, I dunno about tigers as I'd like it to have more of a savanna feel to it. Cheers for the tip though. I was thinking if they worship Tzeench it'd be a sort of primitive form of him. Anyway it's gonna be a while before I get started on this warband as I've yet to start painting my Clan Pestilens Skaven and I've decided not to start projects if I've got unfinished ones (I really want to start this one though!!!)
Oh yeah and I was thinking that they ended up in Mordheim by a magic ritual that went wrong and somehow teleported them there by mistake?

| VERY COOL IDEA: when you get to it that will be a VERY unique Warband! Maybe the lads were REAL animals in the Mordheim Zoo when the Comet hit, AND mutated into their present form. Admirable restraint you're showing there. It IS oh SO easy to go off on multiple projects AND wind up accomplishing NOTHING. A little self discipline is a valuable asset; I've got to develop some someday . How about LONG spirallly Impala style horns for the Gors?

| Cool Idea for a warband indeed! you could ofcourse relocate mordheim? (I play my battles on various locations, Lustria, Tilean borderlands etc. You could locate yours in Araby? for beyond that lie the "African" Wastelands plus you could make use of the sweet looking southerners from the Lotr range (camels, tribesmen, animalas) - I'm planning one of those warbands as well... though... first I'd have to finish my cathayan pirate band, and my goblins.. and some more scenery projects... OHHHHW how I wish I knew of restraint too! hehe | |

| A sweltering Port City on the Eastern Coast of the Southlands ala African Queen WOULD be cool! I LOVE the Araby thingy also. There ARE just so many REALLY great possibilities for Mordheim alternate locales! | |

| Oooh some really cool ideas! I think for the moment I want to keep the Mordheim setting but the Mordheim zoo escapees sounds really cool! *ponders building a ruined zoo* Ezekiel you're not the only one who's admired the Harad range in LOTR, oh to have £50 spare to spend on a mumak! | |

| If you were to sketch out a new setting, you could also include a warband of Southrons. They are the more ore less savage people who live down in the south of the Warhammer world. | |

Call 'em Bebop and Rocksteady Nice! That's very tempting I'm guessing an encounter with a mumak would mean zero terrain on the board (due to it having been leveled)

| Hey, it'd be a more plausible place for me to field my Amazon warband, then when I do in Mordheim.
I love the idea of a setting in the Southlands:
Amazons, Savage Orcs, Southrons, Africana Beastmen... Hmm...

There would be the question what kind of new rules you could add which have not been covered anywhere else (Lustria, Khemri, Relics of the crusade...)

Don't forget Lizardmen - there is a whole sub-list of Southlands Lizardmen for Warhammer, so they have to be part of your plans for the Southlands Mordheim. You can add Tomb Kings undead to the list as well.

| Like most of the locales in THE UNNAMED WORLD of War Hammer, the Southlands have JUST enough possibilities to keep you occupied for the ENTIRITY of a VERY log & productive life. NOW how about some Barbary Coast style Pirates? or...you get the idea | |
