The Lord of The Rings SBG project

I wanted to share with you my latest project: The Lord of The Rings SBG gaming board. It is a small 2'x2' playing surface, for introductory games, where the center piece would be some generic Numenorian ruin. I imagined it is somewhere in Ithilien, near Osgiliath.






This is by far, my most enjoyable terrain project being a great fan of Middle-earth and all Tolkien's work. Critiques and comments are welcome as always!

You will get no critiques from moi. The W.I.P. pieces look WONDERFUL & fit my perceptions of Middle Earth terrain. The foam pieces look particularly SPLENDID. EXCELLENT WORK!  

Nice terrain, i too love to work with the blue styrofoam, great material!

Very nice. It certainly evokes a Lord of the Rings feeling.

That did paint up SPLENDIDLY! The ruins & the Gondor Guys look TERRIFIC together. GREAT WORK!  

Everybody would know it's supposed to be Osgiliath/Gondor even without the minis next to it.

I maybe redo the eye statue, I'm not quite satisfied with it...

SPLENDID! It's all coming along in FINE fashion. The statues & arches have a real Tolkien feel to them. AND I love the board...it's wonderful seeing a river for gaming that is below the level of the surrounding countryside. Keep up the GREAT WORK!

It all came together BEAUTIFULLY! Looks like the Men of Gondor aren't horribly out numbered fo a change. GREAT WORK!

Here is a small update for the board itself:

That is coming along in FINE fashion. The bridge has a Middle Earth feel to it. The potential is there. Keep up the SPLENDID WORK!  

I was looking at my terrain collection and I saw a hill that I never used in my games, so an idea came to me! Lets make a hobbit hole! So, I spent some time thinking and planing and here are the first results:

That is a CHARMING creation. The flowering shrubs are a perfect for the Hobbit hole. VERY WELL DONE!

VERY COOL in an evil sort of way! The Ring Wraiths are my favorite G.W. Tolkien types; AND you did a FINE job bringing them to life...nice scenery to boot. GREAT WORK!
