| Hi, this is my first post to the forum, I have looked around to see if this question has been asked before but I keep getting distracted by all the lovely stuff that's been posted!
So I had my first game of Mordheim in about 10yrs last week, I love it, I'd forgotten how much. I've spent to much money on styrofoam, balsa, foam board and figures, since the game.
I am ready to build some leaning ruins, just wondering what do people think is the perfect height for each storey? I was thinking of 5cm?
Thanks. | |

| Yeah, 5cm looks pretty good. I vary up and down from that a little for variety, but as long as it will look good with a mini, it will look good. | |

| I do the floor to ceiling at 60 to 70 mm; re, it still looks good, larger minis (Ogres & such) fit, & it allows access for the clods who play the game. | |

| Yeah, take larger models into account. Some doorways etc need to be bigger, but it could also be interesting to have an alleyway here or there that's only 25-30mm wide. Make sure an Ogre or something could move around the board and at least some of the ruins properly. Theo | |

| 5cm would be the good height in a world of minisized people... But minis walk around with a damn 2X2 base glued on their feet. This reason is THE reason why realism in heights isn't possible. | |

| The original paper/plastic buildings for Mordheim are 5 cm as well | |

| I never got a ruler out to see if it was 5cm or not. I always grabbed a mini placed it in the building to see how high the ceiling would go. As long as I could fit up to at least 5 minis in the building and still fit my hand in ther to move the minis, I was happy. | |

| In my ruins mostly I have 7,5 cm/3" difference between the floors. This gives you the freedom and space to move all models - even this with upturned weapons. Good luck with this project! | |

| Mabye you could vary the heigts in different buildings? I think 5-6 cm as a standard is nice, because then you get the feeling of cramped medieval housing, and also a way to escape bigger creatures like ogres and trolls. But in larger buildings like a tavern or a big mansion I would go for 7-8cm maybe. Atleast on the first floor:) | |

| LOOKIN' GOOD! That is a SPLENDID ruin, even more so considering it's your first. All the debris in the lower floor really adds to the effect WONDERFULLY. GREAT WORK! | |

| Thats a nice big house:) looking really good! One thing I thought about, a big house like that (before it became a ruin) would maybe have had some supporting pillars/beams (or inner walls) supporting the weight of the roof. But offcourse it works without it also:) oh, and the height looks nice also:) | |

| 5cm is about what our floor height is and looks nice but many models with upraised weapons have problems standing in them. We make do and I don't want to change dimensions of all buildings, it would look odd I think. | |

| Thanks for the feedback especially Christian, I took your advice. Tried to make it look less boxy and added a bit more detail. Thanks for looking, constructive criticism is really welcome I think I might leave this one alone ( not sure if I should add some bolts to the timbers?) and move on to the next one. I really want to try and make the best buildings I can, so any tips are welcome. Not sure why the pics aren't working here's a link to my imgur gallery: http://m.imgur.com/PXpkee2,ympvXUO,ZA0eeMx,sFl6HKb | |

| There you go...just copied the URL & used the insert image thingy. That is quite a change. The new version looks even better than the original...the interior walls & roughed up floor boards look WONDERFUL. GREAT WORK! | |

| Wow! That looks awesome! The inner wall really lifts it up. Maybe you could use something to push in some of the bricks/stones in the styrofaom, to get some level variation on the stonefoundation of the building:) You could also use a stone and press against the styrofaom, it gives it a natural feeling:) | |
