| The link reads like some guy playing 'what if?' to me. Even if I'm wrong, Mordheim doesn't seem well-suited to a limited edition approach. | |

| The first part I think is liget. As for mordhiem being limited editon, it could just start as it and then go from there. Just a spark to light up the (gaming) world. At any rate, it would finally be some kind of offical support from GW for Mordheim.
We would. At least get a new rule book and I'm guessing some new terrain and hopefully new models, the same way Space Hulk did.
Its the most promising news for mordheim in a long time.

| It looks like fan base speculation. GW has a new CEO was one of the few facts I could take from that. I am unsure who "Steve the Warboss" is but it does not sound like an official GW source.
Space Hulk is a great "all in one box game that has value and recognition in the 40k player base. Dreadfleet never seemed like it could be "all in one box" and while it shares lore does not have the value of Space Hulk in the "mother" game. I see Mordheim as a bit of both. Not quite an "all in one box" game but it has the relationship to Warhammer Fantasy. At least it did. I haven't played an edition of fantasy since 5th when Mordheim was written.
I agree any attention to our hobby would be good. I am hoping that the Mordheim video game that should have an early release this month brings some more attention to the table top. Lets hope for anything positive.

| Judging from the "new & improved" versions of War Hammer & 40K, the best thing to hope for from G.W. is that they forget all about Mordheim. | |

| I totally agree with DeafNala here. Let's hope Sauron's Eye wanders in other directions.
OT: At least this new PC-Game that I'm looking forward to explains why GW was so eager to defend their IP a while back, threatening some Fan-HP and such.

| I can understand the trepidation of GW's business practices trampling through Mordheim but this game and hobby is controlled by the player base in my opinion.
Mordheim survives without attention from GW now and will even if they try to change it. Anything new produced for our hobby can just be selected from and absorbed into existing rules, models, etc. No one can come into my group and say, "thats not how we do it now."
I look forward to the PC game but know it will probably never hold me like table top because of limits to customization, rules inflexibility, etc. But anything that may start a few more people interested in our hobby can only be a good thing I think.

| I really don't see GW revamping Mordheim. I don't recall them revamping Space Hulk that much at all. Just new maps and new models. That what I'm guessing and hoping they do to Mordheim. Keep the the same rules but in a smaller book ( maybe even combind the other "offical" rules from the other books into it) and then make brand new models and some new terrian to go in the box. That's all we need as a start. And then if GW is smart and sales take off, they might start to support it again. I'm not saying it would be like another LOTR stlye of support but new models every so often or a few articles in WD once in a while. Heck with Forge World products being in the store in the near future, maybe FW could take over the support for Mordheim.
The point is that this news gives new hope to Mordheim and its more promsing then most news in years.

| Mordheim makes no "real money" for GW. Except for the new computer game.
Unless I missed it, there is no more MOrdheim on the GW website and or Necromunda. Which does suit for a limited release from time to time.
GW wants to sell games that require lots of miniatures and vehicles as this is a revenue stream.
Mordheim and Necro don't do this as compared to Fantasy and 40K.
Yes, if they created more they could sell more but it would be interesting to know the actual Mordheim sales for each year for the past 10 years.

| With the new announcements about GW starting up Specialist Games again, any thoughts to them bringing back Mordheim? Honestly, even if they radically change the rules, I would still buy the books. Just to show GW that Mordheim does make money. Which hopefully has GW give more support in models and such. Even if I don't like the rules, I can always use the old ones and use the new books for fluff background. | |

| http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/12/gw-rumors-specialist-games-begins.html - Quote :
- “Specialist Games is forming thier team and beginning to lay out product roadmaps.
Look for an initial set of of 4 games to be developed concurrently:
- Blood Bowl
- Battlefleet Gothic
- Necromunda
- Mordheim
This initial set will be released in sequence and each will get a regular seasonal release slot in future years.
Necromunda is slated for the first release.
The relaunched Necromunda will be focussed around gang kits and new terrain kits designed especially for the new range.
Other existing lines and previous “recent successful board games” will be folded into Specialist Games purview and added into the rotation with the above four.
Thus we will see very regular product releases for Specialist games throughout the year, but there may be long intervals in between releases for any one system.”
I would assume that “recent successful board games” is a callout to Betrayal at Calth (Horus Heresy), and Space Hulk. Execution Force seems like a complete game experience and not very expandable. I can see Necromunda being a smash hit with retooled modern minis and that dreamed of 40K skirmish gameplay. "The relaunched Necromunda will be focussed around gang kits and new terrain kits designed especially for the new range." Oh. My. Gork. And if they use the same tactic for Mordheim?!!

| I'm not going to lie....i touched myself...twice after reading that. As I'm a fan of Necromunda and Mordheim. This is the best news I have heard in years. Even better news then any new Imperial Guard book or The Empire books. | |

| Now I realize for a lot of Guys G.W. is the Home Town Team & may be the only games that they have played, but, for moi, this is something I'd just as soon not think about. | |

| I'd be interested in seeing if they release any new terrain or miniatures. However, I'm not keen on an update to the rules because they likely won't stick with a re-released Mordheim as a long term product and any new product likely would be incompatible with the multitude of official and fan-made material that already exists.
Now what would be great (and I know that I am absolutely dreaming here) is if they approached some fans like Cianty, Werekin and others who have created excellent material and formalised their material while also releasing miniatures that align with that material. (OK, I'll wake up now.)

| I would love for this to be true but it's hard to know how reliable the source is. And mordheim is inherently a poor earner because of warband siz. Having said that, I have one of every official warband, mostly collected after GW stopped supporting our game. If they released some Mordheim terrains, models and rules I would buy them without a second thought. I may not use the new rules, because I'm pretty happy with the original rule set but I'd certainly have a look at it. | |
