Hello everybody  Very Happy

I follow this forum for months now and after having read so many topics with so many awesome and inspiring projects it's finally time to (hopefully) become part of this lovely community (I was and am really stunned by the activity and kindness of all you guys posting and commenting stuff!)!

A few friends and myself started playing Warhammer Fantasy some years back, however we haven't had a Warhammer match for two or three years now. When I began selling all my stuff last year I found the Mordheim rules printout I had laying around for years. Without hesitation I decided that I wouldn't quit all of tabletop and would love to continue with my dwarfen Mordheim warband I had started back in our active Warhammer time. I always loved creating scenery more than I liked painting miniatures so I was more than motivated to create proper ruins, buildings, etc.

Half a year ago one of my former Warhammer friends decided to create a Beastmen warband (he used to play a Beastmen army in Warhammer) and we started painting our bands, creating more buildings and met every two months or so to play small Two-Player-Campaigns  cheers
I'm currently assembling a Witch Hunters warband (Dwarfs are still amazing and my favorite faction I guess but they are SO slow and so bad at climbing, jumping and everything else that makes Mordheim standout) and forcing myself to paint my growing collection of houses as I love creating them more than I like giving them a paint.

Few words about myself: I'm 20 years old, from Hamburg, Germany, spent half a year in New Zealand after High School and will study a degree programme (do you say so in English? this is what the internet suggested me to use) that combines computer technologies and economics from October on.

Hope to present my stuff here soon and join the discussions on the board.

Cheers,
Jonas

Hi Jonas! WELCOME ABOARD Fearless Leader Tom's  Sleep   Yet On Occasion Oh-So-Cool Nonetheless Mordheim Forum. May your stay be LONG & MERRY!   cheers

Right now I'm also more into the buildings/scenery than the minis. These things run in cycles; SO soon the minis will take hold again. It's best to just go with the flow.   clown

That's so true! Can't wait for the mini motivation to come back so my dwarfen warband may finally get some colour on.

Fear not it will come back. Right now I'm painting & detailing the lower level of my Urban Blight board. The are a few faces on the doors & walls (it's a strange neighborhood); they have started the mini itch...I do need residents after all. One thing feeds the enthusiasm for another.   clown

Welcome to the forum! I paint more than make terrain (and I have been negligent about painting for awhile now), but mainly I play. Woohoo! Glad you have discovered Mordheim, a most excellent game, and this forum, a very helpful and friendly place.

(And "degree program" is correct)

Thank you!

@DeafNala: That's true, getting stuff done or just being on a good way always inspires me for my next projects as well!

@Von Kurst: Me too, can't wait for my first warband to be completely painted Very Happy

@mweaver: I have only played like 6-8 games so far but am really happy with the game mechanics and especially the role-playing aspect it offers, leveling up your characters and gearing them up is so satisfying (or even having them climbing down a well and getting sick in the process thumbsup).
Warhammer Fantasy was too much about only winning and generating competetive lists for me but Mordheim is so much about the atmosphere and each match plays so differently due to all the different scenarios and how you place the terrain. I'm really in love I guess I love you

And I can only agree, this forum seems to be a very nice place indeed thumbsup

I have played a few games of Warhammer, but much prefer Mordehim in large part for the role-playing flavor that you noted. From the start, we were hooked by the ongoing campaign element of the game. I love watching a warband do well and grow (or, well... not). It is a lot of fun working on a figure when you know who he is.

For the last several years we have generally played in collaborative campaigns, rather than competitively.
