| Seeing all the great painting and modelling as well as the load of battle reports, I believe it could be cool to compile an ezine from time to time to promote both Mordheim and the community here. It's just an idea, though, if you think it stupid/too time consuming/whatever, just ignore it | |

| Idea is cool. But... We try in Poland to do something like that and everyone love the idea, but it's hard to find anyone who wants to DO something I'm afraid it would be hard here too... But hope is not lost | |

| It is a very nice Idea, and it could be really cool...
BUT
it is extremely time consuming... I've made a magazine for my local club before (a mere 12 pages, and that took me a full week to compile - with pieces being written by others) then we changed it to an Ezine, but still it's a lot of work, and you need everyone to co-operate - pieces being written, photo's being editted - pieces being checked for spelling and grammar, and in general - the zine being compiled and created... a lot of work goes into all stages...
If you DO mangage to get everyone on the project, then it's a very nice thing to have, as a constant reminder of the enthousiasm of your club.

| indeed a great idea, but I think a e-magazine is the best, doesn't cost to much or nothing and easily to spread around.. | |

| A number of the forum people run the Letters of the Damned E-zine. I think all similar efforts should be directed towards Brahm Tazoul the editor, and Cianty who runs a regular column. They are always accepting submissions, and from time to time include pictures from our gallery in the mag. I'm sure any material you guys can come up with will be greatly appreciated and it might be the shot in the arm that is needed to get issue 7 out... hint hint guys i know you've been busy with BtB... Check it out: http://redclawgaming.com/cs/files/11/letters_of_the_damned/default.aspx | |

| Yeah, I know LoD and love(d) it and am eagerly awaiting another issue.
BUT to me, LoD is more focussed on gaming, whereas I would imagine a Boring Mordheim Zine to be more focussed on painting/modelling... Nonetheless, we could start submitting a lot of articles to LoD. I was just wondering as I don't really know what's going on with Brahm & LoD, not having seen him for ages on the Specialist Games Forum, nor hearing anything of the zine for nearly half a year...

| yeah i hear you about the modeling, aspects i enjoy looking at pictures more than reading rules any day. If you have the talent and the desire i say go for it! I'd love to see what you can put together. And maybe when/if LOD comes back on the scene there could be some kind of merger. | |

| So... if we were to start an ezine, is there anyone else who'd be interested in compiling/editing/polishing it up? Apart from matt of course, who already said he is | |

| Hey guys! I think the ezine is a good idea, but as was said very wisely it takes a HUGE amount of work. To be honest, personally I think I could not do a lot apart from doing some graphics/photoshoping which I would nevertheless greatly enjoy. Looking after a forum and a painting service takes up more time than you think! This being said, I like the idea of a "graphical" ezine a lot. Little text, plenty of pics and tutorials. Its structure could be loosely based on the cathegories we have on this forum, so that new entries can easily be placed (including historical miniatures etc as a little addendum). Cianty came up with this idea quite a long time ago, although he wanted to compile a TBMF anniversary gallery ezine, with selected works that everyone has submitted. I am very interested to see how this develops. _________________ | |

| I might be able to help in this. I have the YOCS website up and running, and have the web dev programs to compile something. Yes, I would need help in concept, graphics, etc, but it can be done. Depends on how many people are willing to help out and get it up and running.
For those that have an idea on what they want, can you send some example sites that have what you are looking for, so that others can see what this is referring to?

| Thanks Cianty, I try very hard to be humble about it as I don't want to be seen as a tool by bragging or anything, so yeah thanks for the plug! Obviously our preference would be something that works in Black Dwarfs... But hey you never know if the content is good enough or fits the theme. Also ADmin Tom is correct these things are a MASSIVE undertaking.

Credit where credit is due and you and the other contributors are doing an incredible job. I am amazed over and over again by how much dedication the CDO community shows. The Golden Hats, the webzine... really great. - Willmark wrote:

Actually this is why I haven't taken inititiave myself yet (although I did consider doing a one-off issue). A regularly released webzine (and at the quality of WoH) requires soooo much effort. Also you need a steady flow of submissions for which I admire the CDO community but which I doubt the TBMF - or even the entire Mordheim community - could guarantee.

Sorry guys, I would be unable to back the project, because I just would honestly not have the time. I really think it is lovely that you guys are discussing this idea, and I thank you all for your enthusiasm. If you really feel you have the motivation and enthusiasm for making a high quality Mordheim ezine, please, by all means go ahead and make your own. You are more than welcome to use TBMF as a platform to promote it (i.e. make a thread about it that you update regularily. The Mods and i will sticky it for you, no problem). But here is another thought: why not put your effort towards helping already established ezines? I know Tom Bell has an ezine called "Letters of the Damned" and he is constantly looking for painters, modellers, fluff writers to publish their work. Cianty is even writing a column for LoD I believe (correct me if this not up to date information). Why not help these guys out? _________________

| Yeah, pretty not up to date unfortunately. It has been a looong time since the last issue of LoD and I don't think there will be a new one in any foreseeable time.
Before seriously starting such a project you should seriously, and I mean reaaaally seriously, ask yourself if you have the enthusiasm and time to pull through. And I don't mean "now", but also in a month or in one year or even longer.

And I don't mean "now", but also in a month or in one year or even longer. Truer words have never been spoken, these things take up an inordinate amount of time. That being said perhaps a 4 page special section of the Word of Hashut could be devoted to Mordheim to gauge interest; again no promises but ya never know. You guys would have to decide onw what you want to submit.
