| Lately I had discussion with friend of mine about what "avilable to" or "............ only" in trading chart exactly means. Some items are restricted to specific warbands only, such as weeping blades (skaven only) or brazier iron (WH only). But let's take items such as garlic or poisons (WH perspective). Garlic - "May not be bought by Undead" How should it be interpreted? Any Undead warband or models that are Undead? Posions - "Not available to Witch Hunters, Warrior-Priests, or Sisters of Sigmar" Is it: Witch Hunters warband or witch hunter and warrior priest models? If first, what would be a point of adding warrior priest to the list (not mentionig that there's no warrior priests warband); if second it means that zealot or flagellant heroes (lgt) may but posions and than distribute it to other warband members.
How do you see it?

| In my group we went with the interpretation that the Undead as a warband were forbidden from using garlic and later expanded that to 'warbands including vampires'.
For poisons it was Witch-hunters and Sisters of Sigmar as warbands were forbidden it and any warrior priest hirelings or heroes (similar to the Wolfpriest of Ulric) would also be forbidden using poisons.

| Those restrictions in master equipment lists seem to always refer to entire warband. I only recall restrictions for specific warrior types in equipment lists in warband rules.
So quick answer is that we restrict to the entire warband.

| On a related tangent, Horses and Warhorses may only be bought by Humans; since nothing is specifically designated as 'Human' in the rules would certain models from an Undead or Possessed warband be able to buy them or does the restriction apply to the entire warband, since they have non-Human elements?
I assume Vampires would be a 'No', despite the fact that they are human for all intents and purposes, but was curious about Dregs, Ghoul heroes and Mutants specifically.

| My thoughts exactly - warbands instead of models. Although "cannot be used by..." would be less confusin. What about this: - BTB wrote:

(Dragon Monks, Sisters of Sigmar and Priests only. Not available to Skaven, Undead and Chaos Dwarfs) If it is available to Dragon monks (models), Sisters of Sigmar (warband) and Priests (models) only, why Skaven, Undead and ChD are added? And available means exactly what? "May be bought" or "may be used only by...."?

| @Ultra-Mega Bob--We have always allowed Dregs to ride a horse or warhorse if the player wanted. If you use the EiF rules then you should have access to Blazing Saddles and Vampires can ride Nightmares while mutants cavort about on chaos steeds. Ghouls can not own equipment (animals) unless you house rule it. We allow them Rabbit's Feet and Lucky Charms but not anything else.
@catachanfrog--I'd just ignore that last sentence.

| @catachanfrog... Yes, you are right that this is another area where the rules are not consistent across publications. The official rules for mounts (use Empire in Flames and NOT Blazing Saddles) limits by warrior type rather than warband. I have never found it confusing though but if interpretation is causing trouble for your gaming group then you'll need to enforce a common view to be held in your group. We never needed that in our group thankfully. | |
