| For years I have done carving with the dull side of an Xacto knife, a metal scale, butter knife or whatever I can get my hands on. The results have always been hit-n-miss. In an effort to up my terrain making skills, inspired largely in part by you talented folks , I figure having the right tools for the job is a step in the right direction. So, what do you o use for carving foamcore/insulation board? Braxen | |

| Use sharp knives lad, stay away from dull.
I use #11 and #14 exacto blades and box cutters with the snap off blades. | |

| I use #11 x-acto, always a sharp blade. I will replace the blade every few days or so. It's not uncommon to go through 4-5 blades on a single piece. I also use dull pencils for things like engraved lettering. | |
