| Basically, the question is how the Fanatical rule affects leadership tests outside the game, and tests which I wouldn't say had anything to do with what Fanatical symbolizes. The special rules for Flagellants says: - Quote :
- "Fanatical: Flagellants are convinced that the end of the world is nigh, and nothing in this world holds any terror for them. Flagellants automatically pass all Leadership-based tests they are required to take. A Flagellant may never become a warband leader."
This is held up against the rules for Wyrdstone Pendulums (which we use in our games): - Quote :
- "Special Rules: If he was not taken out, the Hero using the wyrdstone pendulum may make a Leadership test after the battle. If he is successful, you may re-roll any one dice in the Exploration phase."
To sum up: Flagellants pass all Leadership- based tests they're required to take, and Wyrdstone Pendulums requires a Leadership test after the battle. They have Ld10, so it's not a big issue, but their lack of being able to get Tarot Cards might be a bit compensated if they'd pass the Pendulum test automatically. The reason I'm even asking is, that my fellow house-rule-maker and interpretator does not think they should pass it automatically, where I think the rules are pretty specific about them passing all Leadership-based tests, which I'd say this is.

You are reaching here. As a house rule, I am on the side of them not passing the test without taking it. The flagellants special rule is poorly written. We just make them immune to fear and all alone and get on with it. We never bother with the Wyrdston Pendulum since Rabbit's Feet are cheaper.

| In my group we just played as RAW. As you say, they have 10 Ld so they are probably going to pass anyway so we didn't think it worth making a houserule for. I would be fine with them auto-passing a Tarot card test, but there is more flavour justification there. Pity you can't get them. | |

| VK: I'm indeed reaching Well, it's the same with the Dwarf Slayers, which we've agreed in our group can suffer from Hatred, Frenzy and Stupidity, but are immune to fear and all alone tests. Might be we should just do the same with Flagellants, though there is one point where I find the rule in order - when the leader is dead, and you pass your rout test automatically. I could see that being an intention, them being Fanatical and not stopping unless the leader is there to pull them back. Lord 0: Aye, that's the thought ^_^ but again, where I tend to go directly with the RAW, where it's possible, my fellow ruleinterpretator won't always follow it, because it doesn't make sense to him. And I can see why, which is why VK's way is tempting. However, there must be some reason they didn't make them immune to psychology, but just made them pass all tests. Though I doubt it was intended for Wyrdstone Pendulums to be included. | |

| Haha I know, my curse is to believe that everyone has a rational cause for making specific choices - even the authors of Mordheim! | |
