While discussing mechanics of various games which we desire to translate for our Mordheim campaign, the subject of mugging was brought up.

Out of the individual suggestions, we felt in-battle mugging would fit in Mordheim.

What we have currently established, and are looking for feedback on, are the circumstances under which someone can be mugged and what can be taken from them. This led us to:

Speed Skill: Mug
A warrior with this skill is quick to pilfer from fallen foes in battle. If an enemy in close combat is Stunned or put Out of Action, this warrior may immediately attempt to mug only Miscellaneous Equipment in the fallen enemy's possession. Roll a D6: on a 5+, the warrior may choose a piece of Miscellaneous Equipment from the fallen warrior.

Weapons, Magical Artefacts and Armour may not be chosen. The mugging warrior may not be in base-contact with an enemy model. If the warrior has fell more than one enemy in close combat, only one fallen enemy may be mugged.

Might work. The limitations seem fine to me. This is a flavour skill, since compared to others, it is a bit underpowered in game effect (most of the time).

Good skill.

But personnaly I'd limit it to OOA.

You should also include familiars in the list of forbidden items.

Great catch on the familiars--agreed.

However, you must admit watching someone run off of the table with a familiar would be pretty funny.

Fun skill. I'd prefer to also be able to use it on stunned opponents - it's a speed skill after all. It is really not a broken skill. Only Misc Equipment, but no weapons or armor (Magical Artefacts are never Misc Equipment, right?) - there is not much left, correct? There is plenty in the book, but what is used on a regular basis? Ropes and maybe lanterns. If this skill shows itself to be too weak, you could make it a 4+ throw or even better to loot your opponent.

Well, in my group we often use lucky charms, rabbit's feet, tarot cards, healing herbs, holy/unholy relics, and hunting arrows. Cathayan silks are often chosen by any Marienburgers for flavour reasons and Holy Tomes and the Hammer of Witches is often taken by priests.

Granted, some of that is only purchased late game, but you don't have to take the skill right away.

Oh yeah, holy water is often purchased if there are vampire or posessed warbands around too.

We use the Loot skill from Styrofoamking's Sartosa setting a lot (originally from the Hochland Bandit's warband). Adding mugging sounds like a great idea.
