| I think its fashion. Bob forgot his list two weeks ago... _______________________________________________________________________________ Week 5--CURSES!Treasure HuntA multiplayer brawl between the Amazons, Lizards and Skaven. Photos by playtable There were meager pickings; only four treasures on the table. Most of those were as near to the edges as they could legally be according to the scenario rules. The Amazons approached from the north, Lizardmen from the west and Skaven from the south. (The treasures are represented by various counters.) We all joked about Rob's cursed dwarf and then Chris (yes it was Chris who rolled the dice for the weather) rolled an 11. Thunderstorm! Rob has only had clear weather in 1 game out of seven. Then Chris rolled to see if the Amazon's suffered from Bloody Bill's Curse--no. (He needed to roll a 3 or less.) So I rolled for the Monks. I got a 1, so poor Ss'Dunz the Initiate lost a point of initiative. We began! The warriors all slogged along through the driving rain with lightning bolts crashing down around them as well. The crowd impeded things as best they could. Chris and I rolled snake eyes twice for how far we could move... Suddenly the crowd went mad. People pushed and shoved against the Monks of Bilbous Abbey. Pustus' Pride roared and the crowd fell back. Unfortunately someone tripped Palor the sorcerer. The mage collapsed amid a stack of barrels.
"Pustus Pustilus!" shouted a loud human voice. "I arrest you on charges of smuggling, murder and blasphemy!"
Pustus craned his neck around, but he could seen nothing. The thick crowd, the rain, the Priest felt trapped. He pushed the sodden bulk of his Pride toward the sound of the voice.
"Stop-kill-maim them my pet!" Pustus ordered as he slipped into the crowd in the opposite direction. The Shore Patrol arrive right behind the Skaven! Fortunately someone trips the lead marine or Palor would be taken immediately as he lies helpless. The crowd rampages through the Amazons. All of their warriors on the ground are knocked down (but the one left standing). Pustus makes good his escape. Post Battle The Lizards broke first. Two skinks died. Still the Priest got away with a treasure and gained the missile spell for his advance. Rob collects lots of gold and runs. Another new saurus brave is recruited. Scaly Wags--1 CP Palor and the rat ogre each took a marine out of action. BUT the marine Sargent hacked down both Mad Rash-pittin and the rat ogre. A marksman shot Palor, who died of his wounds. Rash-pittin was captured by the Shore Patrol before they broke. The Monks of Bilbous Abbey collected two treasures but fled with 5 or 6 out of action. The Monks of Bilbous Abbey--1 CP The Amazons lost one henchwoman to a skink javelin. Other than that they got rich and gained much experience from Underdog bonus (+3) and murdering skinks. Amazons--2 CP

| Thanks Alan. I am pretty pleased with how it is all coming together. _______________________________________________________________________________ Sundayheim 5--King of the HullCast Chris--Amazons (Warband rating 230) Robperk--Lizardmen (Warband rating 193) Von Kurst--Savage Orcs (Warband rating 173) Chris joined us for Sunday Mordheim at the Preserve (the Game Preserve in Greenwood IN). Chris' warband had seen a big increase in numbers after his victory Thursday. On Thursday he was the low warband, this afternoon he was well in the lead. (He would have been lower than the Skaven, but I am playing orcs on the weekends.) Naturally with a higher rating came increased risk... The Amazons occupy an unguarded trading ship in Torktuga's harbor. (Photos by Rob) They's Orcs over there to the east. Lots of Orcs. The water is a bit off. The harbor is full of silt. The Orcs attack! The Amazons meet the attack with newly hired henchwomen. Skinks swarm around the stern. Have I mentioned its raining? Heavily. Rob has now played 8 games in heavy rain or thunderstorms, one game in clear weather. (I rolled for the weather today...) The Totem Warior leads the attack. Bright lances of light reach out from the ship. The Totem Warrior slumps, then falls into the water below. (Amazon energy weapons allow no armor save. But the Totem Warrior has the skill that requires a roll of 6 to take him Out of Action. Chris rolls a 6.) Clouds of arrows lift into the rain from the waters of the harbor. An Amazon pitches over the side... The Amazons suffer heavy casualties among the new recruits (although one doxy hacked down two orcs and knocked the goblin into the harbor before falling before the stone axes.) Chris fails his first rout test. The Amazons flee. The skinks swarm over the sides of the ship to take possession as orcs rush up the gangplanks. The leading orc is shot full of poisoned arrows and falls into the murky waters of the harbor. The Savage Orcs break with four henchorcs Out of Action. Post Battle The Amazons lost one of the new henchwomen killed, but made fairly good money. They looted Cathayan Smoke Bombs and some food (and a dose of poison) from the cargo of the Hulk before they fled. The Savage Orcs suffered two killed including da Nutta, Bash-Bash-Bash. Uglug da Nutta became a hero for being hacked down by a doxy. The Lizards only suffered one casualty, the Totem Warrior. He took a Deep Wound and will miss a couple of games. A Saurus Brave becomes a hero. The Hulk yielded little treasure once the Amazons fled. 8 gc, a Whalebone Charm and a jeweled sword were it. | |

| Week 6--Adventures on ye Seas and in ye JunglesCast Bob--Sartosan Pyrates Chris--Amazons Robperk--Lizardmen Von Kurst--Clan Pestilens GenCon is in Indianapolis this week so Chad and playtable were AWOL from game night. Ye Tarantula CoastDuel On the High SeasThe Amazons attack a peaceful smuggling venture by the Monks of Bilbous Abbey Photos by Robperk The Amazon ship offers a broadside at the Skaven cog. The Amazon flotilla. The Skaven embark on a three hour tour... The crew of the skaven raft, including the ill-fated Unknown Sorcerer. "Fire-blast-kill!" Priest High Commodore Pustus ordered his cannon crew. The female man-thing's small boat was dead in his sights. The muzzle of the gun was almost touching the small craft. Sling-stones were already rattling off its sides and skipping along the waves. The Amazon crew were vainly hiding below the gunwales.
Pffft!
The cannon did not fire! Pustus chanted litanies of plague and infection on the heads of the Clan Skurvy warlords that sold him this useless powder and these inept gunners. The Priest High Commodore imagined tortures and assassinations. He had a brief fantasy where he fed his Pride small bits of the gunners as they writhed in pain and watched themselves be consumed.
There was a horrible crash. Instinctively the Priest dodged the expected falling mast as he was jolted out of his fantasy back into the awful present. The enemy ship had bound itself to his stern. Ravening mad-women were clambering over his rails. A dagger flashed at his eyes!Post Battle The Skaven struck their colors with 7 warriors out of action. A veteran Novice and the brand new Sorcerer were killed. The surviving member of that hench-rat group becomes a hero! The Monks of Bilbous Abbey lose another Sorcerer and another ship. They are forced to trade with the Cheating Merchant and pay exorbitant prices for Novices and weapons. The Monks of Bilbous Abbey--1 CP The Amazons become insufferably rich, none of their casualties die and they gain a sixth hero finally. Oh and they find a SECOND Hochland Long Rifle Amazons--5 CP

| Thanks Alan. Since there are fewer of us, its easier to get the right tabletop for the battle. _______________________________________________________________________________ Somewhere in ye jungles of ye Tarantula CoastYe SignpostWherein ye Lizards attempt to keep ye Sartosan Pyrates from discovering a clue to ye location of ye City of Tlax The Saurus Brave The brave known as Hlu-hlu moved cautiously through the dense, fog shrouded jungle. He could hear the chirps and hisses of the skink scouts who flanked him, but he could not see the skinks. Occasionally he would come across a trail marker left to guide him. A broken branch or a slash on a tree trunk. The Saurus knew that the warm-bloods were nearby as well, but as of yet he could not hear their clumsy advance.
GRRIBBIT! Hlu-hlu froze in place. His eyes darted about the jungle looking for the source of the sound. His tongue tasted the damp air.
KAROOK! A huge toothed maw hurtled toward him from a pond near the trail. The Saurus raised his sword, but it was too late!
The Skink Brave One Hummingbird froze when he heard the roars and screams in the mist. Something had attacked the patrol. The Skink listened intently as he heard his comrades' signals, muffled though they were by the fog. The beast was quickly contained. Continue the mission, the chirps and hisses said. One Hummingbird relaxed slightly. The jungle was a cruel place.
The brave reached out to move a thick pale vine out of his way. His arm stuck to the vine. Alarmed, the brave moved from side to side to loosen the vine's hold. His left leg encountered more vines. The sticky vines began to entrap the Skink's entire body. Then the vines seemed to vibrate. Something was moving along them. One Hummingbird looked about him. From the branches above something large was advancing toward him, climbing down the vines. One Hummingbird looked into several dark, multifaceted eyes. The Eight-legged One was coming to feed. The Skink began his death song.
Unseen in the mists, the surviving Skinks and Saurus began to move away from One Hummingbird's position. They listened to his song and the sounds of his struggle and admired his bravery. He would be remembered, but the warm-bloods were closer. There was no time for anything but the mission.Post Battle The dense fog lifted and the surviving Lizards rained death on the Sartosans from the cover of the jungle. The new saurus hero cut down the pyrates that charged him. The Sartosans fled back toward the coast. All of the Sartosan casualties recovered. Despite being beaten the Pyrates were able to aquire a Map of the Lost City. Sartosan Pyrates--1 CP The Scaly Wags won despite being attacked by a Giant Frog and a Gigantic Spider. One Hummingbird was killed and eaten by the spider. Rob fought another battle in weather besides RAIN. ANOTHER Saurus Brave becomes a hero. Scaly Wags--2 CP

| Jail Break EVENT! The Plague Monk. Rashspittin, has been captured by Imperial Marines and taken to Port Sigmar to stand trial for his crimes!
Since Rashspittin is Mad, his rescue is of little importance to the plans of the Monks of Bilbous Abbey. However ALL of the other players in the campaign could benefit from 'rescuing' Rashspittin for themselves.
~Scourge of the Seas players could rescue the monk to gain a skaven crew or swabbie (although he would be a Stupid Swabbie, he also has the skills Step Aside and Black Fury, is WS4, T4 and I5)
~Celestial Canopy players could 'rescue' the blasphemer in order to sacrifice him themselves (+1 Campaign Point).
To 'rescue' the Mad Monk you would need to play the Scenario Jail Break at the Port Sigmar location. If some one wants to do this it will have to be a special game since none of the current warbands can defend the jail in Port Sigmar as they are all Banned from the port. I am hoping to interest one of the players who isn't part of the current campaign in playing the defenders.

| Trying to arrange a game outside of game night that all interested parties can attend is proving difficult. In the mean time I seem to have lost Rashspittin's tail. Jail is a brutal place... _______________________________________________________________________________ Week 7--Drunkenness and Debauchery in Torktuga Cast Chad--Beastmen Chris--Amazons playtable--Ghost Pyrates of Sartosa Robperk--Lizardmen Von Kurst--Clan Pestilens Last OrdersA Skink walks into ye Blow Hole... - 4 events happened: Buxom Barmaid, Rob’s skink did not succumb to her advances. Kitchen help, failed to wound his saurus warrior. Wong Chun Li showed up near the end on the ground floor. I lost an ungor to him before I could get my last two guys to save the ungor. Rob was down to one saurus at this point upstairs. Li is taken down but now I have to face the saurus with an ungor and a gor. The ungor is knocked down and luckily I roll fortitude on the Liquid Courage table to give the gor an extra wound and manage to take the saurus OOA for the win.
My shaman was in the attic, jumped down and went OOA. The chieftan made the jump. One of the bestigors was also up there, fell, got knocked down but was able to stand up, find a weapon and then throw it at a 2 attack skink to stun it. The chieftan also threw a weapon that turn and OOA’d a saurus.
Other than what I’ve mentioned all we had was 4-5 turn combats where we couldn’t wound each other or his guys passed the scaley skin rolls until one of finally went down. It was pretty even as far as his guy OOA, my guy OOA, and so on.
Post Battle Rob scored some horrible scars for two of his guys and I got two guys with increased attacks. I managed to roll a six for exploration and left the bar with 45 gc. No injuries on my side to speak of, but one of Rob’s henchman rolled the dead result twice. Lubbery Beasts--2 CP - Robperk wrote:

| Down on the DocksThe Monks of Bilbous Abbey vie with the Crypt Deniers and the Amazons for a Smuggled Cargo... Pustus Pestilus lashed his tail in anger. His novices and initiates backed away from their leader's anger. At his side Pustus' Pride caught his master's mood, the great rat ogre bared his fangs and growled deep in his chest. The poor spy quaked in fear.
"The ship-boat-float docking this evening is, Great Priest," squeaked the spy.
"Where?" growled Pustus. "Tell-tell me, or my Pride feast on your tongue shall!"
Pustus nodded as the spy told all he knew. Yes! This fool man-thing thought to use HIS docks to smuggle cargo. Well, Pustus would thank him in person once the cargo was delivered into the care of the Abbey. The Priest knew it would rain this evening, his ribs told him so. The dark and the rain would hide his monks from the weak human eyes, yes! Then...
"...guarded by female man-things from jungle," said the spy. Pustus began to listen to his minion's narrative with new attention. The jungle females owed him blood and many warp tokens. Pustus considered letting the spy live as a reward for this news.
"To the Docks-docks!" ordered the Priest High Commodore. The Amazons and their smuggler allies begin to unload the cargo at Torktuga's docks. Imagine that it is a dark and stormy night... The Crypt Deniers infiltrate the dockside crowd with larcenous intent. The Monks approach from the west. The Skaven are looking to get above the crowd. Several things happen at once. The Amazons realize that they can carry cargo off the table (because I reminded Chris); the Skaven fire crossbow bolts and sling stones at the retreating women which panics the late-night crowd; a young plant-eater escapes from the local butcher shop! The beast blunders about the streets (trampling one novice) before escaping down a narrow alley. The Skaven fall upon the retreating Amazons! (Note the pile of carpets. Thanks Al!) The Amazons rush toward the Ghost Pyrates. A sniper awaits. He can't see very far, however. Battle is joined in earnest. The living minions of the Ghost Pyrates start to fall. Amazons trying to avoid combat with the Monks by shooting the rat ogre. Three Amazons reach the edge of the table with one cargo each (out of the seven crates that the Amazons attempted to carry away.) Post Battle The Crypt Deniers broke first with 6 or 7 OoA (including Elvis). Elvis died amid much lamentation. Several other minions may have died as well, but there was less grieving for them. Only the Ghost of Elvis is replaced (re-animated in a weakened condition as the Ghost of Elvis II). Crypt Deniers--1 CP The Amazons routed right after the Ghosts. The tribe liberated three crates of food in addition to the advance payment from the smugglers. None of the Amazons succumbed to their wounds plus Chris gained a campaign point for killing Elvis. Amazons--2 CP The Monks of Bilbous Abbey suffered all of their casualties fighting the smugglers for their ship, however, none were seriously wounded. The Monks captured lots of food, 2 crossbows with special Hunting Arrows and 2 shields and a sword. In addition the Monks found a secret stash of jewels which yielded enough silver for 2 batches of silver bullets! Finally Pustus recruited another Sorcerer, known as Fester Pipe-Piper because of the many giant rats he can summon. Monks of Bilbous Abbey--4 CP

Thanks Alan. I'm really liking what we can do with our scenery these days. It is a bit of a by-product of reduced attendance that I'm kind of pleased with. _______________________________________________________________________________ Sundayheim--TorktugaCast Robperk--Lizardmen (Warband rating 226) Von Kurst--Savage Orcs (Warband rating 193) The Long PierA Piratical Street Fight Photos by Robperk Mad Chunga stood on the deck of someone else's ship trying to look inconspicuous. His task was made difficult by the fact that he was a Red Jaw Skull Face orc in his tribal regalia, which tended to draw stares even in Torktuga. The young orc also had trouble concentrating. He tended to be distracted by the lines of rigging, folds in the sails and flies. Chunga was fascinated with flies. Their size, their eyes, their wings...the orc loved to collect their wings, although he kept losing his collection because it was so hard to see.
At the moment Chunga was trying to recall why he was standing on the deck of this ship at this particular time. He was fairly sure he had never seen the ship before today. There was some reason he was here. What was it? Was he supposed to take something? Watch for something? Kill someone? Suddenly a funny piece of sailcloth or something with squiggles on it floated past Chunga's face. The orc turned to watch the cloth float on the southeastern breeze. He thought about rushing after it, to catch it for his own. Maybe he could stick the fly wings to the cloth with something. Chunga picked his nose. Chunga was distracted by a flash of blue on the west side of town, there on that big hut. Something was on the roof. Something familiar was aiming a bow at him...Several arrows thunked into the rails and deck.
Chunga was uninjured, but he was bemused by the color blue. He stepped forward quickly to snatch at the color. Chunga hit the rail and flipped over it. He landed in the harbor with a huge splash. The young orc flailed about until he surfaced, spitting water and bawling. More blue scaled things were aiming bows at him. Chunga briefly realized that he had lost his collection of fly wings again. Then the white-fletched arrow bounced off his skull and Chunga knew no more. The orcs surge forward. Chunga confronts the Scaly Wags just before he lurches forward and falls off the bow. The Scaly Wags and the orcs scramble to catch the floating scraps of paper. The orc with a counter under his base has it now. The orcs protect their treasure, but are forced to flee. Post Battle The orcs lost the nutta Bash-Bash-Bash killed. Chunga and Magoth fully recovered. The scraps of parchment turned out to be a Flight of Zimmerman scroll. Uma Gooma confiscated it. The orcs found a crate of booze which they sold. Red Jaw Skull Face Tribe--1 CP The Scaly Wags all recovered from their hurts. The Priest received a Privateer Contract worth 50gc and much loot. Sadly the crate they opened contained a few bags of rice and nothing more. (2gc) Scaly Wags--2 CP

| Dems My Gubbinz! The Amazons contest with Lizards for Goblin Loot Photos by playtable and Robperk Thunder boomed overhead. The miserable file of Amazon warriors flinched as lighting forked down to strike the rain drenched jungle. The women squelched along the muddy trail. The familiar jungle had become a mire. The ground was as wet as the air, so much so that it seemed that they swam in quicksand rather than walked.
Then the arrows came. They fell nearly as thick as the rain. The Amazons reeled from the twin assault of the elements and their ancient enemies, the Scaled Ones. The women could see little beyond blurred movement in the sodden undergrowth. Then the huge saurus braves broke into the open...The battlefield. The Amazons advance slowly. One group discovers some gubbinz (the barrel). The Skinks make better time. A group of Skinks discover the Sacred Gubbin immediately. The Skink priest lends support. The Cursed Slayer Pirate. More tales of wet powder and long wet walks in the rain. Securing the treasure. The Saurus claim more treasure (another barrel worth 2D6 gc). The Cursed Slayer gets into combat! - Robperk wrote:
- I was able to find the Sacred Gubbin and hang onto until the end of the game. We played in the Jungle and of course in a thunderstorm, poor dwarf pirate. I ended up winning. I had a couple skink henchmen go OOA, but they lived. Not sure what happened to Chris's Amazon's that were OOA.
I got a ton of gold and a treasure map. I was able to buy a Kroxigor and still have like 70 gc after paying my dwarf for doing nothing, lol. I might buy another Saurus brave. That will max me out on Saurus braves. Scaly Wags--2 CP - Chris wrote:

| The Babes would do better, I'm sure, against a Gang that was interested in their more obvious attributes. That aside, YET ANOTHER COOL REPORT/PHOTOS! | |
