Last Saturday we had a three way Mordheim battle:
As scenario we played a variant of the wyrdstone well.
All warband got the information that a huge wyrdstone rock can be found in one corne of the park.
What they did not know until they arrived, that the energy of the wyrdstone also led a chaos magister with some of his minions to this place to perform a chaos ritual to summon some demons.
The battle field looked like this:
with the following start points and scenario targets:
The chaos magister and his minions only appers after the first model entered the park area.
The chaos magister performs a ritual which finishes the game after 10turns, but also is able to perform two spells:
1. summon / control one of two wild beast out of the cave 7+
2. Tzeentch fire: S4 hit on the nearest model 7+
His beastman bodyguard uses the basic stats of the posseded warband as does the magister:
Two mutants at the base of the chaos shrine (additional arm, three daggers) and the magister himself uses the same basic stats (because the warbands were inexperienced)
The wild beast were basically wardogs with T4, A2 and M8 and could immediately attack after they were summonend/called in the magic phase.
The winner of this scenario is the warband who conquered the most of the three available wyrdstone shards.
To obtain a shard you have to walk in contact and doing nothing else/ or doing nothing the whole turne if you ran the into contact the turn before.
Models who are carrying shards are able to run off the battle field to secure the stones. If you root the figthers with shards roll a D6. On 4+ they were able to hold on the shards.
some more pictures of the scenery
After turn 1:
The warbands basicvally advanced only one shot was fired which hit the squig prodder goblin and stunned him.
after turn 2:
the first summoning by the chaos magister was succesfull
All warband furthermore adavcanced, the undead attacked the first mutant and killed him in a furious charge of two dire wolves. The closecombat between squig and wild beast was a draw.
Round 3:
the dwarven crossbow line arrived at their position:
the orcs took the wild beats OOA after a wild closecombat phase
the undead advanced an attacked the beastman body guard at the temple (no picture) and took im OOA in the first round (Ouch)
the dwarf fought a hard battle against the attacking second mutant (draw in rfound one)
round 4: combat broke out everywhere;
zombies attcked dwars, dire wolves attacked orcs instead of the chaos magister. the second wild beast apperaed and attacked the orcs, the vamoire one ghoul and lateron one dreg got in contact with the wyrdstone.
round 5:
the dwarfs succeded against the zombie horde, the orcs and dire wolves fought a hard battle as the goblin and squig does with the wild beast:
round 6 to end:
Although the dwarfs hammered a lot of bolts in the directionof the vamoire dreg and ghoul only one ghoul were taken OOA. The vamopres escaped via an 18" sprint with two shards.
The undead rooted in round 7 lost the third shard due to rooting and won the game with around 5-6 casualties.
The orcs captured the third stone killed the magister and escaped.
The dwarfs got away empty handed but did no have any casualties.
In the end the undead lost a zombie and one ghoul but earned enough to buy them again. The vampiress advanced and got a skill
The orcs only lost one sqig which was also rebought. One hero lost an eye and the shaman learned a new spell
From the dwarfs one slayer advanced and earned a skill. The scenario was not ideal for the short legs of the dwarves but in the end they did not lost anything and earned a lot.
It was a fantastic battle and we had lots of fun.
