| Heyo! Im starting up my old reiklander warband again since my brother and his mates got the idea to start a campaign. Most of it is from scratch, i have more or less 2 youngbloods, 1 champion and a captain model from the old days (who are in dire need of paint stripping). Anyhow, ill be in here and post som progress from time to time so any help, tips and feedback are more then welcome because its been a really, really long time since I held a brush and even longer since i held a mini. Didnt find my camera so here are some phone pictures, hope you can get the idea atleast.. Youngblood with spear, about half done. Been trying out some different colours on him and think this will be the scheme ill settle for. Most of the shades/highlights dissapeared but the right arm really looks that terrible Left, regular archer, right, 2 marksmen (have a third one with the sort of raincoat/cloak thingy i like). Middle ones greenstuff is waiting to dry, need to slap on some arrows and maybe a satchel. Early campaign champions "the calm and the angry", 2 swords each so they might do well for expert swordsmen stand-ins later on. (Got 2 heads with helmet/hat on that matches their faces for bigger and badder right hands) Well thats it for tonight, any help and feedback is immensly appreciated! /Mac | |

| Yes! Fellow Reiklanders! Great minis, great GS-Job! Can't wait to see them painted. A front view of the youngblood would be nice.

| Empire Archers/Huntsmen are, by my humble opinion, the most suitable models for Reikland warband. | |

| Thank you! @ Ser Tasnica: The front really isnt finished because im missing some colours but ill post a shot of it later. @ drakkol: Please do! I found a fly fishers vice to that i mount that card piece in, super nice for my shaky hands I also made some quick holders and a stand in my shop for spray coating, no more newspapers hehe Yes Vagabond i must say i really agree with you, i love the overcoats they've got! And on a side-note this gives the warband a common aspect as im using witch hunter fine cast for my captain. | |

| As a fellow Reikland player, I can tell you they are looking good! Agree on the Empire Archers set for your models, as I also use them to good effect. | |

| An EXCELLENT START! I like your choice of colors & minis...the Altdorf Red & Blue with white or yellow (gold) trim is one of the more attractive color combos that G.W. came up with. Have FUN with it all! | |

| Thanks, however i might need a hand now i reckon! Do I paint the coats like I want in different browns and blacks or do i have to paint them in the altdorf red and blue and join the cirkus? What do you think? | |

| The G.W.'s minis for Mordheim & the Empire are done in Renaissance style costumes; period outfits were colorful in the extreme. Doing Fantasy minis in colors dabber than their Historical counter parts doesn't seem right to moi. Save the browns & blacks for SciFi & painted the Mordheimers up in flashy garb. Even the "uniform" look is a contradiction of the individualistic style of Renaissance. Ergo I'd go with the bright reds, blues, et al. That's my two cents worth. Ultimately you should do the Guys & Dolls to your own tastes...you're the one who will be seeing them most often. | |

| Yes i get your point DeafNala and I agree with ya. However if i was tredging around in a condemned city of mud, blood, rain och whatnot i sure would like a good old waxed rain coat over my fine altdorfian colours. I think they have enough details sticking out of the coats to clarify that they are wearing a colourful unifrom underneath, hopefully. I might need to add that ive always been a fan of dulling things down a bit, even my space marines sported mostly desert camoflage. Well i'll just paint one up and see how it looks.. | |

| I think the contrasting bright colors with dirtied outer garb like the style you have for that youngblood looks mighty good! I look forward to seeing how these guys turn out. | |

| ehm... long time no see Well, exams, job and life in general sort of crashed down on me so haven't really been able to put in the time i wanted with this project, but enough moaning. Any tips for high-highlight for red? I sort of forgot that red and white blends into pink.. Does orange come out good, or mix of orange lightest red perhaps? Anyways, ill post a nearly done and, depending on the wonderful Swedish train/snow combo, some WIPs tonight. | |

| My Secret Formula for red is to do my base coat in a dark red like burgundy; then highlight with a yellow orange; finally I do a tinting wash with a bright(er) red. If you want to do a more normal highlighting, use a progressively more orange shade of red..red fades to orange in reality. | |

| Champion "the calm", until i get some ideas for names. Nearly done, needs some darker shades and polishing. My camera is still MIA and the cameraphone kind of ate most of the shading but you get the idea, hopefully.. Tried a little "string tying" on his legs, dunno do you think it came out all right? If not, those are padded cotton pants Front Back Second champion, "the angry", just got started thanks to the all mighty train gods of Sweden that make every train ride last for eternity.. Pretty much the same deal as the first chap but with a lighter leather for his coat, just base and 1 shade so far thou. Im not sure about the striped pants though, i think it looks a little too much.. Oh yeah, don't worry, i won't tell a soul.. | |

| Great looking Reiks so far! I like that their brown coats mostly cover up their brightly colored uniforms. I guess I'm partial to Browncoats | |

| A mighty FINE looking bunch of reiklanders you have here! I do like the cross-hatching on the one champion's leggings. Not a style seen much, but the effect is very nice!

| Some progress! Some more phone pics because my camera is still awol. I got one more champion painted up and got them both based. Heinrich, front and back Ernhardt, front and back Marksman, front Some WIP on one of my bow/longbow marksmen. What do you think of the red-yellow combo to break up the colours in the warband a little? | |

| FINE PROGRESS! The more brightly colored hose & shirts add a nice contrast to the subdued color of the tunics/coats...the red & yellow stripes are a favorite with moi. GREAT WORK! | |

| FINE work on these guys! Any self-respecting man of the Empire is gonna have as much brightly-colored digs as he can! Plus, they could be used again as Marienburgers in the future if you like. Either way, they are looking really good! | |
