I wish I could paint Skaven so good

My very first mini was a skaven.
Skaven and Orcs (or Orks) are my favorite ones... If you love them, you paint them well !

Than you know waht you got to do. Buy some metal skaven, paint them and show us the result!

I don't need to - my boyfriend has all original metal Skaven from Mordheim. I have maaaany minis to paint

Love it! Especially the mage, simple but great. The colours look good, though maybe spending some time in Mordheim will get the a little dity >

Your older models also look great, love the idea of a squig hopper counting as a vampire.

Aah! Good to see you're at it again. Your attention to detail, and great feeling for colour depth and matching is very inspiring. I wish I had the patience to improve my technique every time I see your work.

Not my best minis but... it's the beginning of a very quickly painted warband I made for a friend.

The Crossbowpistol on that ancient Citadel-Mini is ace. The conversion on the Siggi turned out nice as well, but can a Sigmarpriest actually have a pistol? The two new Siggis and the one by AoW are the "regular" Witchhunters, I guess?
A brighter paintjob than what you usually see around here, but for a "quick" paintjob they turned out great imo!

The man with the pistol is not a Sigmar priest but another hero and the three Siggis are three because my friend always wants to have the possibility to chose the equipment he wants... He's got 3 minis for only one playable character... he's rich, I guess!
No "quick" but QUICK... Without " *** " ... between 1 and 2 hours / one mini. White undercoat helps!

It's been awhile since any of your new pieces have graced the Forum...COOL STUFF! Even your quickies are of superior craftsmanship...The Man in the Hat is a FANTASTIC mini. All VERY WELL DONE as always!

White undercoat is your friend. Try it, drink eat, eat it, use it, believe in it!

My current favorite undercoat is a white dry-brush over a thin black coat. It give the best of both types of undercoating; PLUS it makes it easier for moi to focus my tired old eyes on the details.
As far as drinking the undercoat goes, white has a much more pleasant taste than the black.

I use a light white undercoat over a black one for my fast painted metals.
The black stays in the depth creating the shadows and the white helps to get brighter highlights on the reliefs.

No kidding. 2 hours a mini is a maximum.
Last year, I've only painted for friends and not for me... I've learned to paint the most effecient way possible.
But I will come back to my personnal best level soon on my new personnal warband. I don't know yet... possessed or undead?
