Slivers Chaos Dwarves and Nurgle Possessed WIP

Heya,
Time to start up some new project that has been itching in my mind to be made reality. I've felt inspired to start two new warbands, Chaos Dwarves (played as treasure hunters) and Possessed (nurgle flavoured). I'll most likely do the Chaos Dwarf heroes first, then mixing it up a bit after what I feel like bitz bashing.

The idea for the Chaos Dwarves is to start with the AoW Berzerkers as the core (unless they release one of the armoured dwarf boxes soon). I'll use selected chaos and marauder weapons (big shout out to Spectre76 who gave me all those hard to get weapons I was looking for!) and some 40k Chaos Marine weapons as well. About half the warband will consist of heavily armoured dwarves, and the other half of bare dwarves. Not sure if that makes sense with the fluff, but it fits with how I've planned to equip them, both on the rooster and on the models). The Dark Vengeance Chosen was what lured me to set this plan into action, so helmets, weapons and armour details will be taken from there.

Right now I've just moved from concept to starting to build the heroes, so here's roughly what the first two heroes will look like. I've not decided on legs/torsos yet, neither the final poses, so suggestions are welcome. Sorry that picture quality aint the best.

After those two, I'll do the fanatic unarmoured heroes (slayers), and a heavily armoured henchman (for when I get a "Lads got talent" result).
At a later stage I will most likely be building a bull centaur (and play him as an Ogre Bodyguard) and dwarves to represent a Pit Fighter and a Witch / Warlock). In the end I'm aming for something like 5 armoured guys, 5 unarmoured guys and two hire swords.

That's impressive! I like it!. But I don't like how that wire fits the whole mini style.

The minis look GREAT...the weapons have a tech look to them that fits with the Chaos Dwarf persona. Keep up the GOOD WORK!

Promising start!

I echo drakkol: promising start! You've chosen some excellent bits for the theme.

I'm stuck at the moment, unable to figure what legs I should be using. Any ideas on heavily armoured legs that would be approximately the same size?

The AoW Berzerker legs are unarmoured, no go. Black Orc legs are to big (surprise!). Are there any elves or human armoured non cav troups that could be usable? I dont mind if I have to shorten them. Advice welcome. Else I'll have to buy a box of plaguebearers and start building the possessed warband instead

Um. Dwarf legs? Mostly all one sees are beards down to boot tops, not much need for actual legs.

How about mantic games dwarves?

I solved the "dwarf legs"-problem with pieces that one might not expect (and as a dwarf not approve of neither). Legs from a High Elf Sword Master. Forgot to take pictures, but the leader of my future Chaos Dwarf warband is completed.

And the reason for forgetting to take pictures is that I've started working on the Nurgle Possessed warband, thus here are some pictures of the first of those.

Parts used for the Possessed so far: Crypt fiend back and left arm, tyranid ravener chest, river troll right arm, tyranid monstrous adrenal gland for head.

It will be more obvious once painted that it is a bad idea to have a trunk flapping about on empty stomach, when the stomach is teethed and has a will of its own.
The Magister (seems inappropriate to call a nurgle sorcerer that, suggestions welcome) have had his torso and legs shortened to make him smaller than the more fighty warband members. And also makes sure that the wings does not make him far to big. I will probably paint the putrid maggots in his hand with a slight glow to make them more noticable and also indicating his caster ability.
