Skip Carnival of Chaos WIP

Hello!

Well this is my first post here. So a bit about myself, I have recently started collecting and playing Mordheim, about 4-5 months ago with two of my friends which was a result of us reminiscing about the days when we did play it first time around, and have not done much painting since those days, a good 12 years ago, except a few space marines.

So here is my second warband (first was Middenheimers), The Carnival of Chaos.

I am using a Zombie body as the bases for my first serious attempt at green stuff.

Well that is all for now. More soon, hopefully tomorrow unless I get distracted tonight. got a tight schedule if the Carnival are gong to appear at our next session on Sunday.

First off...WELCOME ABOARD Fearless Leader Tom's Yet On Occasion Oh-So-Cool Nonetheless Mordheim Forum.
That is a TERRIFIC way of introducing yourself...GREAT brushwork, basing, & conversions. I LOVE the Nurgling doing his balancing act on the ball. VERY WELL DONE!

Well while I get on with my Nurglings and Plaguebearer, here are two other models I painted, one Necromancer for my Undead warband that I can never get motivated to finish, something about painting my two dire wolves fills me with dread. The other is my Middenheimer captain, I'll post that whole warband up another day.

I made the mistake of painting these guys without preparing any bases for them in my eagerness to get playing and dread debasing them to sort it out hehe.

I LOVE him/it; the red nose & the balancing act on the ball are BRILLIANT...nice brushwork & color choices complete the effect. GREAT WORK!

I think I need a name for the Nurgling balancing on the ball, any ideas?

It's the reincarnation of Jimmy Durante...kind of. The nose & hat are what brought that to my Old Mind. You're attaining a level of silliness hitherto limited to Goblins...WELL DONE!

haha, yes he does have a resemblance to Jimmy Durante, had to look him up though. Tell you what I'd like to see, an Indiana Jones Goblin with a Shorty Snotling by his side. Can just imagine a goblin with a whip, pistol and hat.

Anyway, here is the next Nurgling and the last for tonight! Afraid this chaps not such a happy little Nurgling like the other two!





Was thinking about what to do with my next two nurglings, thinking another grumpy clown and perhaps one in a wedding dress, if I can pull that off with green stuff :/

Welcome to the forums Skip! Good work with the Carnival guys, they look like great fun.

Great work on the nurglings! I say go with the dress - you should at least give it a try! I like your painting style, it fits the Mordheim feel very well!

The Troupe looks FANTASTIC in the Group Portrait. The angry /sad Little Clown is cool; sad faced ones are pretty common...Emmet Kelly is a good example. GREAT WORK!

The wedding dress, if doable, would be a winner...a tutu might work also.

My tainted one is waiting for a wash to dry so I took a quick photo of him sunbathing.





The one thing that concerns me the most about a wedding dress, is the veil. I cannot think of a way to do one from greenstuff. Any ideas? The only way around it I can see is to use an actual piece of material for a veil but feel it would not sit well on the model.

Well I just finished the Tainted one, so he is off the join the circus now!





Next I think I'll either start a brethren or some more greenstuff to my second tainted one, who is slowly turning into a brute it seems as other ideas for a tainted one form.

Funny how things you enjoy doing turn out better than those you don't...you must love these Guys. VERY WELL DONE!
If you want the yellow to be brighter, do your wash in an orange or burnt orange rather than brown.

Don't want them any brighter for these guys, think they need to be quote dirty smelly looking. but at the moment I have two yellows, a Iyanden Darksun foundation and a sunburst yellow that must be as old as when I first collected Mordheim, and don't particuarly enjoy the way those two flow off the brush compared to some other paints.

Anywho, just put together a brethren and did a little more green stuffing to my next brute (not sure he is turning out well yet, will have to wait and see if I can manage to make his waist coat. So now to spray that brethren.

great stuff, the nurgling on the ball is my favorite!

Well here is my first brethren. Considering redoing his moon mask as it just don't quite look right to me at the moment. Only a small conversion on this one, taking a empire militia bow arm for his left hand weapon.





but next i must get my green stuff out and get more done to my brute else I'll have to use a proxy for their debut game tomorrow which shall I think upset Grandfather Nurgle and ruin all the festivities this troupe have planned for the unfortunate residents of Mordheim!

DON'T REDO IT; the Moon Mask is my favorite part on the mini...of course, you're the one that has to live with it. That aside, the Bro turned out really nicely; good brushwork on a very in character piece. VERY WELL DONE!

Right just completed another Nurgling Clown. A hungry one at that!





Finally finished attempting to make a brute from a zombie body and greenstuff. Now to start painting it and see how it turns out.
