| [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] Apologize for the rough quality of the pics, but this is the first of my new Forge World Minis that I assembled. These guys are gonna be PERFECT warband members. | |

| Even in his blurry image, the mini looks cool. Have FUN painting! | |

| [img] [/img] Got the first 5 assembled, but wouldn't you know it, the plume off of the first one broke off! No real big deal though. Really love how these guys are gonna look. | |

| He looks great without plume! The last pic is of better quality than the last ones, but once there is paint on them, the minis need a crisper photo to do them justice, I guess. But I like that these minis "see a little love" from another tom's-forum user, because they really are nice. Looking forward to seeing more! | |

| The Lads are VERY IMPRESSIVELY detailed minis. It's too bad about the plume, but, if it broke off that easily, the rigors of miniature combat would have done for it anyway...you can always pin it in place. Keep up updated as things develop. | |

| [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] Well, the base paint job is done, and I just need a tad more touch-ups and "dusting" to get rid of the glare, but I'm pretty happy with the result so far. This guy has the look of a seasoned soldier that has seen his share of action. @Grimscull, you were right, he looks just fine without the plume! | |

| Awesome job and great choice of colours!
Just one question: the model seems a bit shiny and wet. Is that on purpose? I have similar issues with my miniatures, especially after using washes on them.

Well, it's more likely the "Agrax Earthshade" wash that I just got, since I ran out of "Devlan Mud". The stuff dries with a gloss shine on it. It may also not have been completely dry also. Usually, when I get a model that has too much of a glossy look, I try what I call "Dusting", which is just a VERY light drybrush of white or khaki. It seems to do the trick without overpowering the look of the model. EDIT: Finished the first one. The second pic is a little blurry, but you get the idea. [img] [/img] [img] [/img] | |

| Nice work mate! I really like how the wash brings things out, especially on the helmet and the other metal. | |

| Your "dusting" really changes the look of the mini...certainly kills the glossy effect. He has a very expressive face. WELL DONE! | |

| Thanks for the kind words. Been very busy as of late getting painting projects finished, but I really wanted to get at least this model finished. Two friends of mine and I are putting together an LLC to do professional mini painting, and we've already got our first project underway: 3000+ points of High Elves! Our goal is to get the whole army finished by Games Day on the 28th of July. Wish us luck! | |

| GOOD LUCK...at least the high points cost of the High Pointy Eared Ones will cut down on the number of minis involved. Have FUN with the project...if possible. | |

| 20 phoenix guard, 20 white lions, 20 swordmasters, 60 spearmen/seaguard, 4 chariots, 10 assorted cavalry, and about 10 characters. Could be worse. | |

| 140+minis is a fairly substantial undertaking considering the time factor... VERY GOOD LUCK with the Beasty. | |
