Mordheim PDFs

I have noticed when I’ve looked for PDF copies of the Town Cryer Books. (I have all the books, but been afraid to carry them around for fear of being stolen.) For years I’ve been find the same scans from long ago. There is still the same issues from YEARS ago. TC 17, is missing pages. TC 8, is out of order and missing pages. A few of them looks like they are scanned from copies made from a Copy Machine copies. A bunch of them are scanned sideways. Hasn’t anyone ever rescanned these with the better technology we have today? I tried scanning my books, but the PDF file was HUGE! About 50 megs, or more. They would’ve been a little hard to upload some where.

Also, has anyone gone through deeply checking out the “Mordheim 2.1 Rulebook Unofficial-8709”? It looks pretty thorough, containing the main book, all TCs, Empire in Flames, and more. I’m curios of its completeness and correctness of it, before I print out 322 pages and Book Bind it.

Is unofficial now part of the title? I hope so. That damn file was driving me up a wall when people kept quoting it as official rules. As far as I can tell from the folks who have asked questions about rules content it still has random house rules shot throughout the thing with no indication of what is real and what is their house rule. I wouldn't bother printing it.

Thanks for the warning. It’s really too bad it’s full of House Rules. If it was just straight up the Official Rules, that would have been a really great resource. If I had the time, I’d go through it and redo it to the official releases. Maybe, someone here with more time could fix it. (hint-hint)

This is really good to have, thanks! But the scenarios in the scenarios folder are all unofficial huh? I'd like to play some other scenarios than those that come in the mordheim rule book, but I'd like to try some of the ones published by GW before going through the huge number of scenarios written by other players. Is there some compilation of the scenarios that have appeared in Town Cryer?

Games Workshop never separated scenarios into 'official' or 'unofficial' but most of the scenarios published in TC were written by 'other players'. Scenarios writen by GW contractors or employees include those written for the Nemesis Crown supplement, the Empire in Flames supplement and some of the Fanatic e-magazine. Notably those written by Nick Kyme.

@scenarios: We normally generate our own scenarios and use the best things from the known scenarios and also own ideas. I think there s no need for official scenarios as long the rules are clear and the targets are balanced. I think von Kurst do it in a similar way.

Von Kurst: Thanks, I didn't know that no distinction was made. And the scenario review thread was really helpful! I think will be using last orders in our first mordheim campaign, the rest didn't really fit with that setting.

Serial: which scenarios would you recommend for some mordheim beginners that fit with the standard setting? We're looking for those that deviate from the standard "hack at each other until one warband routs"

I'm keen on deffend the Find (the one where some one is defending a building in the center of the table), tresure hunt (where you look for the tresure chest) and once you guys have a few games under you or want a big chalange the Monster Hunt (where you attack a young monster in the ruins to grab it's loot).
The most fun comes from having to find something on the map but those favor fast warbands but that's not too bad if you got more then 2 warbands in the game as it means there may be a fight easier to help slow down those fast warbands.
