Ok, let me start out this post with a bit of back story. A few years a go when the Mordheim bug infected me again I was kinda sad as I did not have a base book anymore and was running off of PDFs. It was ok, but being kinda nostalgic (spelling) I wanted a copy of the actual book.
I went first to the GW site as the used to have them on print on demand and was saddened that they had stopped that. I then went to Amazon and seen the 'cheapest' place was box sets only and they were outrageously high, so my last options were Ebay and Craigslist. I bid off and on for a year for just the book, always with someone outbiding my highest bid in the last minute of the auction.
Then one day I was just kinda randomly looking on Ebay and came across an auction that some misspelled Mordheim (they had it Mordhiem). The description basically saying this guy helped out on some tourneys years ago. had a base book, and abridge rulebook for quick reference, some passout sheets for the tourneys and extras.
Well when I won the bid (for an incredable price btw
) I paid up quickly anticipating getting my hands on that old lovery paperback book because that is what I was most excited about. After a quick delivery I open up the package and seen my lovely prize. I then seen the 'abridged' book which was basically a copy of the main book and Empire in Flames minus the fluff and I smiled on how useful that was going to be especially since it was spiral bound, thick stock paper, with a plastic cover. A good 'play-book'.
The passout sheets was basically a quick reference sheet they made for the mentioned tournies with all the skills, weapons, and tables from the mainbook, Empire in Flames and TC's. Handy I thought.
Then I came across the final book he sent. Once again, thick card-stock sheets, spiral bound, plastic covered. In it was 20-30 net warbands. Most of these were written by Tommy Punk and Ed Hastings who were basically two of the 'fore fathers' of the fansites and what not. Both have had a few articles in TCs. Anyway, most of you know who they are.
So after a short story long what I want to say is this, If you all are interested. I can start re-introducing these warbands here. Some of these are a little over powered or ruff but the frame work is their, others are pretty well in line. Others still are different takes one maybe the same expiramental warband. Some I had seen other I had not.
And if I do this, its not going to be all at once mind you, more like one maybe two a week. I will post them as they are here, incuding credit to the writer of the warband. That way we all can share them and playtest and adjust if needed to our own play groups.
Also what I want to know from you all and the Mod(s) is if this be the best place for it or maybe down in resources and would you like me to keep them all in one thread or give each warband it's own that way we could discuss pro/cons/adjustments as we see fit with out the thread jumping all over the place.
Questions, comments, etc?
