40 gold crowns to hire +25 gold crowns upkeep
Explorers are adventuresome souls, toughened by both experience and their drive to explore strange new lands and civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone... Well, most are. Some are just in it for the gold.
May be Hired: Any warband other than Skaven or Carnival of Chaos may hire an Explorer.
Rating: An Explorer increases a warband's rating by +18 points, plus 1 point for each Experience point the has.
The Explorer is Human.

SPECIAL RULES
Unique: No two explorers are the same. After hiring an explorer roll twice(!) on the following chart:
If the same result is rolled twice you may either select an additional skill from that skill list or re-roll.
1 - The Explorer starts with a single Beastmastery Skill
2 - The Explorer starts with a single Combat Skill
3 - The Explorer starts with a single Shooting Skill
4 - The Explorer starts with a single Academic Skill
5 - The Explorer starts with a single Speed Skill
6 - The Explorer starts with a single Safari Warband Special Skill
Versitile: When gaining a new skill the Explorer may learn from any of the six lists above in the Unique special rule. If the Explorer learns Weapons Training or Weapons Expert they may be given weapons to use. However they will never give the weapon back.
Adventuresome: May modify one exploration die by +/- 1 once per post-battle phase.
Pith Helmet – 5 gc Common (Safari only)
Protection: A Pith Helm provides limited protection from impacts compared to a helmet. It works in the same way but only on a 6+.
Comfortable and Shady: Pith Helms are much more pleasant to wear than a steel helmet in the sweltering heat, blistering sun, or muggy jungles of the Southlands. A Pith Helm does not give penalties due to environmental conditions. It also prevents the penalty to BS from Bright Sun.
Light: Pith Helm does not count as armour for purposes such as drowning, casting, etc.
