| Well, I´m just starting to make my own terrain, but yesterday I finished the roofing of one building using tiles of around 2cm x 1cm and they looked WAAAAAY too big, giving the impression that the building was done on a totally different scale... I will redo the roof using tiles of 1cm x 0.5cm, and not the single ones as I´ve used previously, but the "row of tiles" with cuts in them, as will tell you about the results... Just my 2 cents! | I use tiles that are 1cm by 2cm.
Not all that is on display as they overlap..
Got some close up pics in my boring terrain thread..

| I use 8mm x 12mm with a slight overlap - there are some pictures in the modelling section, just look for The Ferret. | |

| Whatever size you use...
Cut a long strip for the right height (including overlap) and just notch individual tiles from that.
Keep the top part uncut; this will be covered up by the overlap.
Much, much easier to glue down a strip of tiles than individual ones. | |
