Anyone use the Von Carstein warband list?

First off.. I'm curious on who created. For those of you who are unaware of it.. its essentially the regular Undead warband with the addition of an undead troll that is bound to the Necromancer.

Anyone try it out? How is the balance of this list?

The addition of the undead troll is pretty distinctive, but there are a lot of internet warbands. And the words 'undead troll' do not reek of 'balanced and fair.'

it looks a bit weird. Why would they get an undead troll? It's not that expensive and a good statline, the warband looks balanced except for the troll and are not the undead wolfs a bit cheap?

I have not played them but i do not think the warband is unbalanced. The troll is not very good, only toughness 3 and 2 attacks mean he is significantly weaker than a normal troll or a rat ogre. Yes he is undead, but unlike the normal troll he is killable and he costs 15 gc upkeep. Personally i would not bother with him - but then the warband is just "normal" undead .

When in doubt, do a switch out. Add the troll, =subtract the dire wolves.

For flavor, I always liked the Abomination in the Necrarch Warband (see the Letters of the Damned). A big guy that fits in an Undead warband.

I have to agree with Styro. The abomination is much more "undeady" than the troll. Oh and the dire wolves were same as the ones in the rule book, so my mistake
