| For some reason, I didn't get the notification of updates. Thanks for the reply on the Discworld miniatures. I had read somewhere that they were much bigger than GW's. This is great, I will definitely get some of those beautiful miniatures.
Also, awesome job with the buildings, particularly the timbered house. Beautiful roof! Joao

Youve got to! It's a pleasure to paint, too! - JoaoS wrote:

How have you achieved that look?! I have just received my order from Tabletop World and I am having a VERY TOUGH time doing justice to these roofs. I am very depressed

| Awesome paint job on the house - I have the same model, but taking my lazy time painting it!
I agree with Illuzionist, a tutorial or some instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, did you change some of the original windows in the house? In some of them you can see right through. I don't think you get that option with the original model. Looks amazing and definitely more realistic the way you did it.

| Okay... the real stuff begins here. Tutorials? Hints? Okay. That's something I will make with pleasure... but not today. Too late for me (I live in Belgium, midnight here!) I'll make it monday. If it's okay for you... And... yes, I've pierced the windows with a Dremmel and glued a piece of a little thing like this (I dunno the name of this in english, sorry!) Much more realistic... And fun! The interior is painted... why should I hide it? | |

| OOPS. A bit late! Some instructions to make such a scheme... ? Okay! In french and the shorter version in english!
IN FRENCH:
1°) Sous-couche noire intégrale. Pourquoi?
IN ENGLISH:
1°) Black undercoat
2°) Arkose stones: - Heavy YANDEN DARKSUN drybrush - TAUSEPT OCHRE tapping. - Light BLEACHED BONE drybrush. - Zénithal SKULL WHITE drybrush and lining on the edges. - CHAOS BLACK between the stones.
3°) Grey stones: CODEX GREY and then FORTRESS GREY. SKULL WHITE for some edges. GRAVEYARD EARTH washing on some stones
4°) Wood: - Heavy SCORCHED BROWN drybrush. - Light GRAVEYARD EARTH drybrush - Last light BLEACHED BONE drybrush.
5°) The tiles: - SCORCHED BROWN drybrush - Lighter SNAKEBITE LEATHER drybrush. - Random BLOOD RED caress to put down some pigments. - From downside to upside: BUBONIC BROWN and then ROTTING FLESH drybrush. - CHAOS BLACK lining between the tiles.
6°) The bricks: - Global DARK FLESH drybrush. - Random drybrushes of 2/3 DARK FLESH, 1/3 BLAZING ORANGE or 2/3 CHAOS BLACK, 1/3 REGAL BLUE or BESTIAL BROWN. - Light BLEACHED BONE drybrush everywhere. - Some random CODEX GREY lines and dots.

| Quality finish. I too approve of your catchy matching schemes. The use of green I especially marvelled at.
The world map in the background caught my eye. First I noticed that Araby is detailed as Arabia, before realised there is other Reikspiel displayed in the sea/ocean names. This must be a different version of the UK White Dwarf map from a German release, no?

| All the buildings featured in this thread are amazing.
To begin with, the models are all well-sculpted but it is your painting that gives justice to them! I particularly love the way you paint the wooden parts of the building. I cant wait for all of these buildings to come together in an appropriate town/village setting.
Thank you also for the color guide/tutorial!
Keep it up! | |

Yes! Well seen! It's a german version coming from the 2007 or 2008 german Games Day. A gift from a friend. Next one: My vision of the Garden of Morr.

| I'm happy Joao loves the custom base of the tower... I'll try to customize more plastic GW pieces in the future (so easy to do, this would be a sin to refuse to try), just to obtain a different look. This base mixes GW Dreadfire Portal's base and some stairs, a bit of foam for the wall down the stairs and the 3 trees from a Citadel Wood bound together. Liquid resin is your friend in this kind of work when you're a bad sculptor as I am! I love plastic sceneries: I'll try soon to mix other kits like this... but I have to buy the kits first... quite more difficult!
Thank you, DeafNala. I'm still looking for an idea about how to use the graveyard (assembled and glued on a base or flexible like this, unglued... or bound with a second one to get a large graveyard with more spaces between the graves and tombstones...).

| Okay, Ninja Goblin... My problem is that I've painted 60 Ogres and the 50 miniatures in the Seddition Wars box for customers, last month. No time for Mordheim! But I'll come back with new stuff... when I'll have some stuff. And I plan to create MDF engraved gameboards during vacations! I hope those will look cool... The thing is I need platforms in my city because we will play in entire houses, no ruins... I'll need stairs, platforms, docks, sewers, rocks, statues... We won't play in Mordheim but in Tottenburg, a city I'm creating by now. An old city dedicated to Morr where are buried the corpes of the first allies of Sigmar himself, an old city where the legend tells that Sigmar himself may be burried with some powerful artefacts. An old, forgotten, autarkic city that some pretenders to the throne want to desecrate now, looking for some authentic symbols of the power of Sigmar. ... Voilà! | |
