| So, do wizards roll randomly for their spell(s) before every game, or keep the same spell from game to game? I can't find the rule right now. And you only have one spell for your typical wizard, right? Theo | |

Theo Hey Theo, All spell casters or priests roll once for a spell and then keep it for the rest of the campaign. All of the official spell or prayer casting heroes that I am aware of start with one spell/prayer. Hired Swords roll twice when you hire them, but retain the same spells as long as they are with the warband. Most Hired Swords that cast spells start with 2.

| Wow really, only one and you keep it...? O.o I've been doing it wrong in my 2 games then, thank you. In the next game I'll remember to roll a spell and then keep it. And my Shaman just gained his first advance today...and I chose a skill...he could have gained another spell! ._. Theo | |

| A fairly common house rule is to allow a spellcaster in your warband (not a hired sword) to pick the starting spell, then roll ones he learns as an advancement randomly. | |

| No houseruling here, I'll be playing wit hthe same list against different opponents in at least 2 different places. Anyway, my Shaman rolled "Fooled Ya!", the one where he can't be charged or shot at, and may move away if he's in combat. He also has the "resilience" skill, so he can take some abuse and then move away if needed...I might wanna continue that build and hope for Stat increases, and pick "Warrior Wizard" and give him armour and whatnot... | The orc shaman list is one of the best ones - I like pretty much all of the spells on it. | |

| Yeah! You're right, it is pretty dang awesome...ASF with 4" range...pushing an enemy away(Really handy spell, took an enemy out of action when I used it.)...two good damage spells...a magical weapon wich is really good...and the keep-shaman-safe spell. I'm offically fallling in love with Mordheim, the idea of finding Wyrdstone and recruiting new guys really appeals to me as a change from Warhammer. Thanks for the replies guys! Theo | |

| My only question about the spell that let's orcs all strike 1st is...isn't it basically useless w/ the whole "strike first" ability existing now? I mean, orcs have I2 usually (a few quick orc heros may have 3). So if anything but a zombie charges them, it goes off initiative, which orcs suck at, so the orc STILL goes last.
I guess it could help if you could give your henchmen ithilmar weapons...but i don't think that's allowed.
