My wife and I have been playing around with the molds from Hirst arts. Here's the first 3 buildings we've managed to complete. The big ruin is my wife's that she made from the provided blue print, that one is made out of plaster of paris. The other two are free hand ones I put together made from Merlin's Magic. Lemme know what you think. My camera/flash was not kind to the paint effects. In a few of them you can see the mighty witch hunter, Analeisa von Demming, who was kind enough to stand in for scale.

I'm not a big fan of hirst arts but I do like the first and third buildings a lot. The second ruin needs more openings to be playable, but perhaps you have a role planned for it in your games.

Are the planks in the third building cast as well?

Yeah the 2nd building was sort of our testing piece to test out the "speed wall" pieces that we had a mold for. It was also used to test some painting methods and methods for creating floors. It does need more openings. What we do with it now is just put barrels or crates on the 2nd floor and turn the opening towards the middle of the board to make it into a nice spot for ranged folks to hide away in.

The planks in the third building are cast in plaster as well. Then just painted brown and heavily inked with black then dabbed dry with a paper towel.

Great stuff! Really inspiring! Especially the last picture. Good to have a wife who's a "partner in crime" for terrain building! Smile

Yes she's my mini painter, my big banana hands just can't do it. The only problem with having a wife who's into it as well is that there is no one to keep us in check when it comes to buying more stuff Razz

We should all be blessed with such a problem...CONGRATULATIONS on a WONDERFUL relationship. cheers

Your collaborative works are TERRIFIC...the top piece reminds me of Robin Hood's ruined home from Robin Hood, The Prince of Thieves. You overcame the "Lego look" I norrmally associate with Hirst Art thingies. VERY NICELY DONE! thumbsup

not a fan of hirst arts blocks but that large ruin is looking great, some ivy scrambelling up the side would give it even more depth

Couple more completed buildings. She did the ruins using some spare parts we had laying around and was testing a crackled finish for the flooring. I did the gallows.
