The Father hasn't been seen in days and no one has come back from the church - can't you do something?

Terrain

Obviously a church, in the centre of the table. It shoud be surrounded by areas of woodland with soem narrow (1 or 2 inches) paths between them. Warabnds will start from the table corners no further than eight inches on to the board.

Rules

The warbands objective is to reach the church and deal with any threat there may be there. The problem is the woods are far from quiet and it's dark, evil magic is felt on the air...

Woodland areas
Each woodland should contain a counter so that to get past that woodland a models has to move within 6 inches of the counter. When a warabnd memebr does move within 6 inches of a counter D3 zombies appear at the edge of that woodland, as close to model as possible. They will attck the nearest living model if possible, if not moving directly towards the nearest lviing model. Otherwsie they follow the normal zombie rules as per the entry in the undead wrabnd section. The zombies effectively become an extra side, with thewir turn being takne after alkl the warbands have moved. This means warbands that activate some zombies can shoot at them that turn, they can't charge them as they've already moved that turn but shooting and maguic is fair game (imgaine it as relfex shots at the sudden target).

The Church
As they kick in the door they come face to face with a sentient pile of remanimated corpses moullded together into one horrific mass! The Iron Kingdoms Boneswarm was inspiration for this:

A Equal to the number of wounds remaining!
Ld 10

Causes fear, regenerates any missing wounds on a 4+ at the end of it's turn unless it is at zero wounds, can only recover one wound a turn. It will not leave the church so you will need a floor plan for the church (about 3 inches by 6 inches is a good size).

Once the boneswarm is dead the zombies fall to dust and the victourious warband may claim the spoils. There is a holy artifact and D6 vials of holy water in a chest by the altar.

Normal experience plus 1XP for the model/henchamn group which kills the boneswarm.

Works very well as the first campaign in a scenario - the dwarfs spent more time killing zombies to harvest the XP than anything else...
