| Amazing piece of work, Quite speechless..... Great reading how you went about this watery mammoth. Im glad you all survived the fumes. Worth it though for such a magnificently crafted and inspirational board. In fact to call it a board is to do it a disservice. It is making me want to use a phrase from my youth that has not been uttered in most likely 15 years.... Its S**t Hot | |

The more the merrier. I am from Poole but the waterfront action all happens over in Bournemouth.
We can't very well accommodate greenskins in this setting but there are numerous roles could potentially be fulfilled.
Drop me a line.
Regards,
Stuart Hey Stuart, That's brilliant! Thank you! I might be more available from February onwards. You must be careful with me, though; I've been recently diagnosed with severe kleptomania, so be aware that I might "accidentally" steal some of your terrain... Speak to you soon, Joao

| If you go back to the very start of the thread, you will see a new picture of the gaming table... A major picture update is actually about to appear on the Liber Malefic blog. I have added a couple of nice shots there tonight featuring a warband I have been collecting and painting over some time. They are particularly difficult customers for shopkeepers on the Riddra and Luydenhoek Isles to deal with! Update hereHere is a picture of some of the players in my gaming group. You might recognise one or two of the names. [left to right: Frogprince, Geek Girl, Werekin, The Who] | |

| Hang on a minute! I'm pretty sure I've seen The Who somewhere in Bournemouth - or Poole!
Marienburg looks gorgeous and I'm really looking forward to seeing more ogres (old and new). Very interesting article.
By the way, your family photo looks very professional.

| Most of the credit goes to Carl. He did a spiffing job on the those burnt out warehouse and fortified buttresses! The architectural discussions we had in advance of customising special builds has paid its dues.
I've just realised that more of the detail which I've added wasn't there when this photoshoot took place. I have added wooden jetties, the watch tower and worked on a cemetery. I want to complete more markers to go with the treasure chests - two more objective sets are in the works! These are really handy in games.
Multiple boats and carts will also be needed for the campaign. I have some materials available to work on vehicles. Do you aim to create anything like that Joao?
Drop me a PM some time about coordinating a get together... I should have free time to geek out when my band has finished recording our album around April time.
Cheers,
Stu | |

| Absolutely! I'm still in Bournemouth, so I can drop you a message when I get some free time - Easter break is coming soon!
As for building something similar, for the time being I'm renting a flat which only allows me to have so many things. I do have a board and quite a few buildings, but I feel I would need a more dedicated space to get myself into a similar project.
As for boats and carts, are you just using plain balsa wood or are you getting bits from hobby shops?
What about civilians? Where are they? Who are they? I'm really curious about this whole city.

Yes I spoke with Frogprince about fellow forum members being in town. We're keen to meet our local counterparts. Our suggestion is meet to discuss hobby over a brew at one of the few good alehouses. Our favourite is my local, the Goat & Tricycle. - Quote :

I have a Landship which fits the look. It can be used as a river barge I think. It's tricky resourcing good kits for ships which are Warhammery. It would be great to work on a couple of ship-of-the-lines for interactive scenario but that's another big commitment... I've seen a few things I liked but not committed to anything. River boats being smaller should be something that can be scratch built. Geek Girl has been fretting over this for her Strigany Pirates. I had some parts from the Forge World kit which I had replaced so I gave her these to mess about with... I had thought them damaged but turns out any warping can be corrected with hot water. (Duh!) For the carts, I visited the model shop in Westbourne. They have some useful building supplies. After picking through all the balsa wood type materials I selected what the store keep told me was walnut and lime! Whenever the Citadel carts & wagons come up on ebay they cost a bomb!! There are various funky components I would like to use. I have some metal wheels but none of those classic plastic ones from the 90's going spare. Also got the Dwarf Treasure Cart from the Skull Pass boxed set which is a neat model. - Quote :
What about civilians? Where are they? Who are they? I'm really curious about this whole city For some scenarios, objective markers are required. I have some for specialist treasures markers for arcana including a carpet and tome, plus some chests for generic treasure. Hostages are another type of objective. For these I thought to represent some of the local civilians using damsels in distress. There is a horde of undead marauding unchecked throughout the city as the campaign begins. Luckily my pal Frog Prince works on a big army of zombies, ghouls etc. The rest of the characters in the campaign are factions in contention for influence and wealth. I guess the new warbands are something I will be talking about next on the blog at some point.

| great work! Any gamer would be honored to play on such a lovingly crafted table. The boat with the two squares cut into it: is that for placing bases so the models don't tip over when moving? Great idea if so, and it illustrates the model limit for the small two person row boat. | |

| Somebody asked for battle reports. I uploaded pictures to my blog (including the one below) in July from my annual birthday battle, along with some narrative of the battle. Forgot to mention it on this thread! left to right: Chris 'Frogprince' Kneller, Stu (Werekin), 'Canada' Steve Hume (aka The Cad)I haven't updated the blog since and there has been a lot going on. A lady at my office told me to blog more today so I will look to get some more updates going this month. I don't want Cianty making me look bad now that he is back on the scene... | |
