Now that git with the Booma looks to be a great idea for a Orc with a Blunderbuss! Where's that bit (the gun) hiding? Is it plastic?

The blunderbuss is two parts spliced together: the stock from a Gorkamorka "shotgun" (AKA Kannon) and the barrel from the Rat Ogre "Gun Arm". Both are plastic but the Gorkamorka Kannon is rare as rocking-horse droppings these days. The Rat Ogre gun could probably be spliced onto another stock though!

This fella was one of the first Pirate Orcs I ever made! He was assembled (along with three others) at Conflict North in early 2004 at a "Build your own Chaos Flayerkin" table - earliest photos of those models here!

Wow! I just came across this thread - and went all the way back to the beginning to make sure I did not miss anything. Am I glad I did!

Your Orc pirates are magnificent - great imagination and even better execution!

Next project - a Sea Wyvern!

I'm not using the Finecast Warboss rider as I'm going to add a certain plastic Pirate Orc Warboss. I'm also planning on adding a handful of Goblin Midship Grotz clinging on to the rigging that the cannon is suspended from. I'm going to add a telescope on a mount attached to the saddle, along with assorted supplies, baggage, barrels, a tattered skull-and-crossbones flag, barnacles and seaweed, and a crab or two.



I'm going to fix the very-visible joint in the torso by hiding it behind the straps and ropes that hold the saddle and support the gun.









The base (which I was surprised to find was a 50x100mm chariot base, rather than a monster 50x50mm) will be a modelled as a beach, with sand-dunes, rocks with barnacles, wooden flotsam-and-jetsam and crabs.





I'm waiting for a bits order but more WIP will follow soon!

Arrg Adm'rul! Yer a loon and no doubt! Will yon beastie e'en float?

It is a cool model, but I keep picturing what will happen to the Beasty's rib cage when the cannon goes off...it's not a pretty picture although in keeping with Orcitech.

The bitz order for the Wyvern just arrived so I'll be back on it again soon. But in the mean-time I've decided I really have to finish painting something I started about 6 years ago! There are three more of these sat on my desk with just the skin painted.

Funny you should mention it, I also have a few of the cannon toting Ogres assembled, based, primed, & six years on hold...could be that great minds thingy...or not. That aside, the Big Guy looks GREAT...nice tats. VERY WELL DONE!

Storm of Magic! I get it now. I was wondering what use they were in the post-DoW world. My own box of Leadbelchers has been sitting on a shelf since a campaign fizzled right after 7th ed started.

Salty Ogbad - officer of the Pirate ship Ogresun and sometime Wyvern Hunter:

Kommodore Deffgit puffed on his pipe a few times and stared off into the distance; he leant back in his chair and took a long swig from his tankard of grog and sighed.

Salty Ogbad shifted nervously while he waited for the Kommodore to remember he was there. The sun had only just risen over the sea wall and the harbour was filled with golden light that made the stagnant waters of the port town look almost pleasant. The Kommodore was sitting at a desk made of a wooden door on top of two large barrels, on a smaller barrel that served as a chair. In front of him were a great array of log books, charts, letters, a spyglass, a pair of heavy pistols, several empty bottles, and a discarded plate of food.

“Salty! What d’ye want?” the old Orc finally bellowed.

“You sent for me Boss!” said Salty with the greatest of patience. “…something about a mission for the Adm’rul?”

“Ah! That’s roight. I’ve got a mission for ye, from the Adm’rul. He’s getting fed up with the Bretonnians always knowing we’re a-comin’ what with their flyin’ horses scouting about their ships all the damn time. He wants a way to deal with the blasted things before they can report back, and maybe do a bit of scouting of our own: Spot juicy prizes far out to sea and the like.” said Deffgit. “He wants ye to go find a Sea Wyvern.”

Salty was somewhat taken aback – this was not what he was expecting - and he struggled to hide his surprise.

“So, take a few of the lads and a small sloop and search the little islands around the south coasts of Estalian and Tilea and that.” continued Deffgit. “Here’s a good spyglass and this here is a magic chart: Maddz Map. It’ll help you locate all the hidden islands and secret places. Mind you don’t rely on it though, it don’t seem to be working like it used to…” the Kommodore squinted at the ancient scroll for a while.

Salty cleared his throat and the Kommodore came back to the present again. “Off ye go lad! Don’t keep the Adm’rul waitin’!” he shouted. Salty jumped and turned on his heal. He started shouting orders at the nearest Orc Pirates to find stores for a long sea journey.
