Some of you may have remember the first table that Tewfik and I built over a year ago. It was the whole reason I started up Tabletop Geeks.

Well, about a year ago I moved an hour or so away from Tewfik and left the table with him. I got tired of not having a table of my own to play on so I decided to build a new table. This one is a bit smaller but uses the same basic idea of a lipped edge so that I can create square terrain blocks to mix and match terrain. This one needed to take up very little space when not in use as our apartment doesn't have enough room for a permanent table.

It's mostly finished now, all except for being painted. You can check it out here: http://tabletopgeeks.com/gaming-table-the-second-one/

I'm hopefully gonna get it painted up this week.

For now though, you can check out how the terrain blocks will work: http://tabletopgeeks.com/table-with-terrain-blocks/

Space? Room? Judging by the pictures on your blog, you have enough of that. Who needs sunlight coming through a window, when you can have boxes piling up in front of it? You can even pacify your conscience and save some room by stacking them up to the ceiling.
Who needs - Gosh! - a comfy chair with someone sitting in it? Chase them both away and leave the room to the miniatures and their habitat!
The Hobby God demands it!

This whole and in no way understandable design choice with folding legs and such aside, clever idea and excellent execution. Razz thumbsup
So clever that I propose you should bolt in a permanent table. Then you can send the one you do not need anymore to me. Think about it? Wink

Haha, we had to move stuff to make room to stand the table... in the bedroom. It's pretty much up against the bed in those pics.

We have a small 1 bedroom apartment with 2 of us... our dining room is actually an office with a massive desk and then a smaller desk next to it. The living room is packed full of walls of shelves. We've been here a year and we still have boxes stacked up in some places cause we don't know where to put stuff. Closets are full, under the bed is full...

In fact, we don't have an actual table anywhere in the apartment other than this folding table. Not a single one. Smile

Hm-hmmm, indeed, these are reasons that weigh gravely on the balance of Justice - I dare say I might be able to absolve thee from thy duty and allow you to keep your table. But mark my words, 'tis only possible if you keep posting updates on this project! Laughing

I'll definitely be posting more on this. Next step is to paint the table black (and get my girlfriend to airbrush the Mordheim, Malifaux, Hordes, and Warmachine logos on each edge and the new Tabletop Geeks logo that she's working on now in the middle of the table).

Then I just need to work on terrain... but I need to find places to store it all. I have so many ideas for terrain and I REALLY want to see a full table of terrain blocks so I can show how awesome this idea is going to work. Smile That and playing on it with lots of customization will be awesome.
