GW Realm of Battle Board = Desert Island?

Sorry this is such a massive forum-stretching image, but I thought it deserved it!

The Games Workshop store in GW Bury (in north Manchester) has made the most brilliant use of the Realm of Battle Board for their Island of Blood demo-game table.

Normally I really dislike the skulls in the cracked ground, but when they are under water they look fabulous!

Brian, the manager, painted everything that wasn't hill as the sea! Two or three different colours of blue, then several layers of Water Effects. The surf is PVA glue and Snow Flock which was also painted with Water Effects after it was dry.



I don't get to go to Bury often (I've been three times in the last 10 years!), but I really want to get a game of Mordheim with my Pirate Orcs on this table!!

It gets my top score of 5 Yaarrs!

That REALLY is a SPECTACULAR gaming table...the waves breaking on the beach make for a VERY CINEMATIC effect. As it stands, it's an EXCELLENT gaming table, but, thinking more in skirmish gaming terms, I keep coming up with YET MORE thingys to clutter it up with. THANKS FOR POSTING...INSPIRATIONAL STUFF!

Awesome! Add a shipwreck or 2, a beached jolly boat or clusters of rocks...

That is pretty neat, I wouldn't have thought to use it like thta either.
