No, I meant that my group allowing a player to use a 666 roll to keep a current hired sword without paying him was a house rule for us; what your group is doing is certainly legal under the rules. The way we see it is that, basically, because of something that happened during the scenario, the hired sword working with the warband waives payment.

Arh, Thats what you meant - my bad, must have missread what you wrote.

Its not a bad houserule - dont know if we gonna use it, it gives the same resault that my friend use, only it lets the HS advance. But again the more it think about it now, its not like its overpowered or gonna ruin the game.

For us, it doesn't happen quite so often. But I think we invest in Tarot cards and other things that let you manipulate your search rolls with less enthusiasm than some groups (we do tend to go for the multi-functional rabbit's feet early on).
