| Hi Edward, Forest Goblins have lots of special rules but I'm guessing you actually mean Special skills similar to Academic skils or Strength skills. There is only one Special skill that Forest Goblins can get and that is the skill to remove Animosity from the forest goblin that takes the skill. This Special skill is available to Braves and can also be chosen as a skill list for promoted henchmen. This is a hard choice though because there is only one skill in the Special skill list. Some people see the exclusion of axes or clubs as oversights in skill lists. I just see it as a choice that the warband creator made (either for balance or aesthetic reasons). I cannot say for sure though whether this was a mistake or deliberate. We had a Forest Goblin player in our last campaign though and he never had a problem with the restriction. Cheers! | |

| I've played the Forest Goblins several times over the years. The henchmen equipment list is definitely an aberration. The backward goblins have no access to primitive weapons (that their heroes have access to) and have better missile weapons--bows--that their heroes cannot start with. As with many warbands the list lacks internal logic and fails to be consistent with its provided background.
I removed bows from the list and gave my gobbos clubs and axes all around. They are goblins for goodness sakes.
I found the lack of a special skill set balanced by the myriad of special warband rules. Boss poles mean that you have to go out of your way to take an animosity test, so the skill is not needed.

| Hey RL,
I don't think that hero's ability to lose animosity counts as a full set of special skills. It is listed in subtext notation on the skill table as what seems like afterthought.
I used this same rule for my Night Goblins warband and do not intend for it to work that way. Of course i can't prove my interpretation, and yours is equally valid.
Although if you use it strictly as stated, only Braves can choose to use this rule/skill, so no promoted henchmen can get it at all. This is why i made it avilable to "Night Goblin Heroes", not just Goonz (that list's Brave type hero).

| Hi PD,
The reason why I said this is because the Braves have a tick beside Special Skill list but no Special Skill list is provided. Therefore I assumed that the Special Skill list was only one skill to remove animosity. Except for that though I would agree with your interpretation.
Cheers. | |

| I did not even notice that, well for anyone wondering, that does not apply to my NG warband. There are separate special skills, the remove animosity if for any hero with animosity without taking up a skill set. | |

I'm not sure what that statement means.
