wood elve counts as

i was thinking of making a wood elve warband but along the lines of the stirwood outlaws..bs4 for the marksmen maybe a different name for the cleric and his prayers and changing the hero names

any feedback would be apperictaed

Could work well. You mean you would have the same rule-set, just with different names? Feels wood elven enough to me.

I like the idea quite a bit. The Stirwood Bandits don't suffer from the perceived "overpowered" status of the Shadow Warrior/Wood Elves. Using the rules from one War Band to represent another with similar capabilities allows a wide variety of unique bands that don't require extensive rules writing & exhaustive play testing.

I think it is a viable idea. I ran one outlaws band a couple of years back, and they are a tad on the powerful side (everybody BS 4, and five heroes with only one a youngblood), but they are certainly better balanced than the wood elves. Of course, if you go with Movement of 4 they are going to be oddly slow wood elves, but Movement 5 for everybody is very powerful.

well wood elves are rather cautious and sneaky...running round with m 5 isn't cautios or sneaky in my book

and for the holy sheild=host of sprites which would take damage

This is a really good idea, although the movement 4 restriction would irk me if it were my warband!

i guess but with,prayers bs4 and so on i think it could work

I have one CD. It isn't that one (although Songs of the Wood is one of the ones I like better). I have Broadsword and Beastie, mainly for the song "Broadsword".

Noble=captain
a disgraced noble banished from athel loren

Retainers-champions
the nobles loyal companions

fey one=cleric
strange and mysterious even by the standards of woodleves
the fey ones are able to commun with the spirits f the land eg prayers

Younglings=petty theifs
young warriors eager to earn fame and fortune
by following the noble

bowmen=marksmen
the nobles loyal soilders

glade guard=outlaws
elves who have sworn loyalty to the noble despite their banishment

and critism would be welcome
