So the old keep wich was mostly the centerpiece of our games got pretty much annihalated through repeated moving and general carelessness also it was kinda shoddily built since it was one of the first generation of buildings we had. so i decided we needed a new keep so i started building one this week. so far theres to days work in it so ill post as i move along with it.

First is the basement with the hollowed out basement and secret passage out of the keep. ill add paper mache to it to make it a more consistent surface

Bash's WIP castle Pict0281

here is the keep that will be built ontop of it it will stay removable for easyer access to the basement when playing

Bash's WIP castle Pict0282p
and when combined
Bash's WIP castle Pict0279g

and this is the first phase of drawing stones in so the relief will show once its painted
Bash's WIP castle Pict0283k

and with the gate towers:

Bash's WIP castle Pict0285j

and left tower closed up front this was pretty difficult for a noob builder like me
Bash's WIP castle Pict0287

and here is going to be a second story living area or something like that:

ok thats 2 days work Razz

Great start to what could turn out to be a very large project.

If you are really out of wood, but want to build anyway, you can do what I do sometimes Bash's WIP castle Icon_twisted

Go to your local coffee shop that has wooden stir sticks and grab a small handful. One or two shops should get you back into business for a little bit.

They want you to take them, they leave them there for you to take them ...honest

Also wood is not really necessary.

One usually has plenty of lightweight cardboard boxes lying about. Cut the cardboard into the same size strips as the coffee stirrers and boom, planks. Also the nice thing about cardboard is you can just score it instead of cutting all the way through. Same number of planks, less work. If you were just going to paint the wood work anyway, its an easy fix.

If you were planning on stain, not going to work now but stain is bad for you and the earth. Sorted.

It's also good to see yet another Dutchman here on the forum, welcome! Leiden is not that far from where I live, care for a game sometime? Check my log for my table...

But that's not important, I see Fokke en Sukke!

TRULY IMPRESSIVE PROGRESS! Watching The Castle gradually approach completion is inspiring...you've got all sorts of modeling ideas whirling around in my enfeebled old mind. EXCELLENT WIP STUFF! Bash's WIP castle 544694
