| Baby dragon, Baby hydra, Baby chimera, baby griffon are all in the multiplayer rules ( chaos on the streets). Giant spider and bloodletter are in the Random Happenings rules. The baby animals are balanced against multiplayer warbands so probably just one or three of them depending on the level of the warbands. Giant spiders and Bloodletters? Probably 1+1 per warband in the ring. *Shrug*. Best bet is just to try them and see what happens. | |

I am thinking of doing a "Gladiator Vs Monster" solo player scenarios. Just so hard finding players in my small town...and my brother inlaw is 45minutes away. The other thing is how hard would it be to field a standard warband Vs a pit fighter warband? can it be done? Cheers GreyWolf

| There's also the balewolf, evil mutant trees, a nightmare/dark pegasus, and chaos spawn, all of which were written into various scenarios that should still be available at the specialist games website. Here's a list of the monsters/scenarios:
Balewolf / The Thing In The Woods Trees / The West Gatehouse Nightmare / The Merchant Square Chaos spawn / Spawn Hunting
Lastly, you can get lesser daemons from all 4 chaos powers - Bloodletters from random happenings, and the other three from TC #14 (article in the back, Rituals of the Dark Gods). You can also get Nurglings, and a different Plaguebearer profile, from Carnival of Chaos.
Furthermore, you've always got the "monstrous" character types available to some warbands, such as a troll, minotaur, rat ogre, etc.
You can also probably port some stuff in from fantasy without too much trouble - although you'd ideally want to scale their stats down a tad and treat them as juvenile versions of the Warhammer monsters (just as the other monsters in the "Monster Hunt" scenario).
Lastly, I wrote up rules for a Gorgon to use in one of our campaigns, based on an old profile in the Warhammer 5th edition rulebook:
M WS BS S T W I A LD 4 2 4 3 4 2 3 1 9 Equipment: The gorgon carries a dagger. Special Rules: Petrifying Gaze.
Petrifying Gaze Range: 8” Strength: - Special Rules: Each turn the gorgon may select one target within 8”. The target must pass an initiative test or be petrified, no armor saves or ward saves are allowed. If the warrior is ½ blind, or the warrior is wearing a helmet, the warrior receives +1 to this test. The mutation ‘Daemon Soul’ will provide protection as though petrifying gaze were a spell. A roll of 6 is always a failure. Sigmarite Augurs, ethereal creatures, and any other blind models are immune. Petrified models may be revived during the game by the following spells/prayers: Healing Hand, Blessed Ale, and Cure. A petrified warrior is immune to damage of any kind. If a henchman is petrified at the end of the game roll for injuries as normal. If he does not die he remains petrified. If a hero is still petrified at the end of the game roll on the following chart below instead of rolling on the normal serious injury chart. A petrified warrior who is still alive may be revived after the battle by the following items: 3 vials of holy water, 3 vials of Tears of Shallaya, or 3 doses of healing herbs. A petrified warrior does not have to be revived immediately after the battle, but may not partake in further battles until he is revived. Note that a full recovery does not cure the hero of petrification, it only means that he (or rather his statue) is still with the warband, and he must be revived as detailed above. Only a result of 66 (survives against the odds) means that he is no longer petrified. 11-15 dead (or left for dead) 16-23 full recovery 24 madness 25-55 full recovery 56 bitter enmity (gorgons) 61 captured 62-63 hardened 64-65 full recovery 66 survives against the odds

| I used to use Stegadons and Carnosaurs all the time in Lustria. Mainly as a final Valley of the Lost encounter for multiple warbands. I also use Usabti from the Tomb Kings as tomb guardians in Khemri. I also regularly use sabertooth tigers, lions and bears in various campaign settings.
There is a Pit Fighter warband or two out there, I've only ever fought against the newer version but there is no big deal to doing it.

| Oh, and if you have any Lions or gorillas or some such you can always just use the wardog rules for them. Only a few moneys at a toy store will get you a tube full of animals including lions and tigers and panthers and bears and so forth. | |

There might be something on young giants as well, although I don't remember for sure. Also, to avoid any confusion, the "Thing in the Woods" and the "Balewolf" are two names for the same creature, which is from Empire in Flames.

| The Border Town Burning setting has a huge Bestiary section for non-player models. | |

| If you're fighting gladiators there are troll and minotaur rules in the orc and beastman lists respectively. | |

thx will have a look at both of these. I'll be playing mostly in the arena for the first mordheim campaign. After that we'll branch out in the towns. [got a project to build up some 3D buildings...but those are way down the list. got to many other things on the go...death Squad, Pit fighters, Arena etc etc.] cheers GreyWolf

| Here’s a basic Idea as well. Use Possessed and/or Mutants. Randomize the mutations chart, then roll, something like, D3+1 mutations. Then roll d3+2 experience advances, rerolling “New Skill”. Do this for 3 Possessed and 3 Mutants, giving you 6 monsters to pool from. Number them 1-6, and at the beginning of the game each player rolls a D6 to see which Possessed and/or Mutant is running through the ruins. You could even move them with a Scatter Die and 2D6 Movement up to the Creature’s max movement. Or just use the Chaos Spawn movement chart. If you really want to make them nasty, have them gain XP too. Each time they advance, roll the Hero Chart and re-roll “New Skill”
Just an idea | |

| Well, there's a profile for chaos spawn in one of the scenarios ("Spawn Hunting"), but it sounds like Shadow's idea (which will give you much cooler, more creative chaos spawn) is to just use the profiles and mutations for possessed and mutants from the possessed warband, which is in the main rulebook.
@Shadow - that's an awesome idea! I may have to try this myself at some point.
