After the deluge..

Hi,

Here is some of the stuff I'm working on for the Frothers game at Salute 2010.

Made from Foamcore, cork, card, balsa, actually anything that I can lay my hands on pretty much

The Gatehouse, some ruined houses etc. I'm still working on the walls to go with the gatehouse having only just got them primed for painting yesterday. When complete they will span approx 7 feet of table!!






Some towers I still need to complete and base up....

I really need to build something like this. Mine may be coming on faster, but you have more altitude in yours. I only have one little 3rd story section so far. . . I'd like some more high up stuff, and I need to make some bridges too. Diving charge!

Nice looking Ruins. You can't overlook the value of plenty of 'standard' ruined buildings. I love the towers, looks like a great defensive position. and those walls should be interesting should I assume you are going to have a table at least 7 feet long?

cjp: You seem to build fanatically quickly!! The towers may be impressive in height, but I still don't know how I'll get the beggars to Salute intact

I'd love to build even more stuff, everything I make gives me more ideas to distract me, and I still have a warband to sort out

Dmig: Thanks for the feedback! I like standard ruins, most cities have alot of small houses, so why should one decimated by a comet be any different

The table for Salute is a big 'un, I've also made some wall sections ruined so that they can butt together at an angle to allow flexibility when setting up.

Really cool stuff, mate. I'm with cjp on needing to build some towers like that. We have standalone towers, but nothing with bridges like that. I feel your pain with the multiple projects as well: I'm building a new warband with all converted minis, revising our campaign rules, building modular terrain squares with sewers, trying to get some hired swords done up, and playing Dragon Age on top of non-hobby life. Keep up the good work!

Really nice terrain! The towers are inspiring!

All I can think of are epic fights with lots of Initiative checks going down!

Better buy a roipe and hook! That piece of terrain really screams Mordheim!

These buildings are looking very good and playable - although you might add a bit flock on the bases to bring out some color variation.

Your towers look really nice, and since I am seriously thinking about stealing your idea, I would very much like to know how you did the brick-effect on the towers .

Cool stuff! The towers definately are my favourites too. Gotta love complex ladders and bridges.

VERY COOL STUFF! The houses are very reminescent of the ones from the old box set, although MUCH NICER. The Towers with that LOVELY crosswalk are TERRIFIC. All VERY WELL DONE!

Yeah I'm considering using some flock, like you say it'll break up the bases somewhat, and add a little colour too

The brickwork is just embossed plastic card mate

Just my two cents:

If you are playing mordheim, I would use no flock or dead flock. I cannot see green in Mordheim...

All I see are shades of grey and brown!

A couple more pieces, based on CD's, again for the Salute table.
Using a couple of statues from the Ruins of Middle Earth box.

Finally, a use for one of those 40k ruins we all have hidden away somewhere

REALLY COOL STUFF. I LOVE Der Shed...& the rest of the thingys. The Gallows seem to be a very appropriate piece for Mordheim. EXCELLENT & IMAGINATIVE CREATIONS!
